Travel Hotspot Mexico
That's why the country is so popular with influencers.

Travel influencers have discovered a new hotspot for themselves! But not only they present themselves on social media in Caribbean scenery and relax at the Mexican beach resorts, but also more and more tourists escape the Corona pandemic and travel to Mexico.
From Dubai to Tulum
What was Dubai in the pandemic winter is now Mexico in the spring. Thousands of influencers are currently sunbathing on dream beaches in Cancun, Tulum and Cabo San Lucas, as if the Corona virus had long since passed. Brits in particular have fueled the Mexico hype, as the UK put the previous Instagram travel favorite, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), on its red list as of January this year. Which means that travelers returning would have to quarantine themselves for ten days. Mexico, on the other hand, does not appear on this red list and attracts European tourists with its tropical weather.
No quarantine requirement in Mexico
The reasons: Mexico never really closed its borders during the Covid pandemic and basically allows tourists into the country at any time. To this day, it is one of the few countries in the world that does not require a negative PCR test upon entry. President Andrés Manuel López Obrador is among the leaders who reject the lockdown and want to push uninterrupted tourism. The Mexican economy, especially in coastal resorts such as Cancun, Tulum and Cabo San Lucas, is heavily dependent on tourism.
From Mexico to home quarantine
For Austrians, the following applies: Anyone who wants to return from a stay in Mexico must undergo a ten-day home quarantine. Upon entry, either a negative PCR test (not older than 72 hours) or a negative antigen test (not older than 48 hours) is required. If such evidence cannot be provided, the test must be made up within 24 hours. Quarantine can be terminated with a negative PCR or antigen test no earlier than the fifth day after entry. The State Department warns against all non-emergency travel. A security level six travel warning is in effect for Mexico.
