A lot has happened since Qatar Airways launched its first flight in 1994. Originally owned by the royal family of Qatar and operating only as a regional airline with a small fleet and limited route network, the airline's rapid rise began under the leadership of Akbar Al Baker in 1997. New aircraft types, an expanded route network and improved customer service ensured that Qatar Airways quickly became a global player.
Outstanding service as a matter of course
Numerous awards prove in what passengers have always known: Qatar Airways operates at the highest level. Over the years, it has received the Skytrax World Airline Award several times as Airline of the Year, and has also been recognized for its Business Class several times, most recently in 2021 and 2022. The cleanliness of the cabins, the comfortable seats, the in-flight catering and the flight attendants have also repeatedly won prestigious awards.

It's not just people who look after passengers at Qatar Airways. The innovative virtual cabin crew, Sama, is also available to deal with guests' concerns. The AI-supported cabin crew interact with passengers and offer them tailor-made experiences on the immersive QVerse platform. You can also experience the interactive platform, Qatar Airways Experience, on the ground.
Exceptional: QSuite
Frequent flyers all over the world and discerning travelers appreciate one of the airline's products in particular: the legendary QSuite. This is the most relaxing way to travel by air. Available in selected aircraft types, the Business Class product is a kind of suite above the clouds.

Lockable doors for maximum privacy, the 1-2-1 configuration, plenty of space and seats that can be converted into real beds ensure a vacation feeling, even when you're still on the move. Guests enjoy priority boarding, lounge access, personalized dining experiences and fast Wi-Fi, just like Business Class passengers.
New routes announced
The continuous expansion of the route network shows that the airline is increasingly focusing on Europe. The frequency from/to Berlin was recently increased. And on July 1, 2024, Qatar Airways will celebrate its first flight to Hamburg. "Expanding our presence in the German market to Hamburg demonstrates our continued commitment to our passengers by offering them even more options to reach the Qatar Airways network of over 170 destinations worldwide. We are delighted to be the only airline in the Middle East that'll soon be flying to five cities in Germany and connecting our passengers to the world via Hamad International Airport in Doha - voted the best airport in the Middle East by Skytrax for nine consecutive years," said Thierry Antinori, CCO of Qatar Airways.

In addition, the frequencies to selected destinations in Europe have been increased for summer 2024. Instead of 14 times a week, there'll now be a total of 21 flights from/to Barcelona. Frequencies to Brussels, Copenhagen, Manchester, Nice, Oslo, Rome, Paris and Warsaw were also increased just in time for the summer. Since June 12, there have also been direct flights to Venice again. It was also recently announced that the airline was looking into launching flights between Doha and Ljubljana. The resumption of non-stop flights to Lisbon from summer 2024 is already fixed.</strong
