Luxury à la Robinson Crusoe
Boeing 727 becomes luxury suite in Costa Rica.
August 11, 2020
Amidst the treetops of the Costa Rican jungle sits a red Boeing 727 - probably one of the most unusual luxury hotel suites in the world. With a fantastic view over the paradisiacal bay of the Manuel Antonio National Park, you can experience very special nights here on the southwest coast. The Boeing from 1965 is a special piece of the past and was in service for South African Airways in its first life. Rediscovered and revived by the American Allan Templeton, it has found a new purpose on a 15 meter high plateau: The Costa Rica-based hotelier and architect transported the Boeing in five pieces to the jungle, where he converted it into a luxury suite next to his Costa Verde hotel complex.
Unusually luxurious
The finest teak wood with hand-carved inlays creates a feel-good atmosphere in the Boeing 727. Two air-conditioned bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, are available to guests - the floor between the baggage area and pressurized cabin was removed and lowered for this purpose. Flat-screen TV, kitchenette and separate dining area leave nothing to be desired.
