Westend Factory, Munich: Where industrial chic meets down-to-earth, regional cuisine
Sheraton Munich Westpark Hotel
Garmischer Str. 2, 80339 Munich, Germany

A lot of industrial chic and an extra dose of Bavarian charm, that sums up the Westend Factory at the Sheraton Munich Westpark Hotel. Just like the Westend district: honest, straightforward, sometimes idiosyncratic and always cosy. The menu was newly composed for the reopening of the Steak&Fish restaurant. Asparagus salad with wild herbs and baked egg, roast beef from Allgäu spotted cattle, char from Lake Starnberg or grilled Portobello mushrooms with mountain cheese, spinach and millet are among other creative dishes to choose from. For a sweet finish, guests can choose between chocolate cake with marinated berries or a rhubarb crumble. Here, chef Frederic Kerkhoff cooks with regional ingredients, perfect craftsmanship and no frills - simply delicious. The kitchen team and suppliers know each other personally, which is not difficult, as they all come from this region. While the meat comes from a family butcher's shop in Munich, the fish comes directly from Lake Starnberg. Like the food ingredients, the drinks also come from local suppliers. The craft beer comes from the surrounding Bavarian region and the wine is grown within a radius of 300 kilometres. In the future, events will take place on the Westend Factory terrace again, such as the barbecue evening with the Big Green Egg, the legendary egg-shaped ceramic charcoal grill.
Bees and Gin: From the Hotel Roof to the Lenox Bar
Zurich Marriott Hotel
Neumühlequai 42, 8006 Zurich, Switzerland

Bees and gin - how do they go together? Unbelievable but true: 26 bee colonies live on the roof garden of the Zurich Marriott Hotel. In the middle of the city, near the Landesmuseum Park and the banks of the Limmat River - a neighborhood full of flowers, trees and shrubs. Warmer temperatures in the city center and lush blossoms provide plenty of dolce vita - first with nectar for the bees and then with first-class Zurich honey. The team from the Lenox Bar which opened last summer, produced a unique, bar-only gin made from this honey together with the award-winning master distiller Ruedi Käser from the idyllic Käsers Schloss in the Swiss Aargau. The Zürihonig gives the Lenox Gin a unique, light sweetness and, in combination with the selected botanicals lemon, orange, juniper, coriander, thyme, basil and ginger, a distinctive aroma is created. Guests of the bar can enjoy the in-house gin in the cocktail "The Bee" with deep pineapple and blackberry notes as well as floral lavender elements - served in style, in a specially made ceramic honey pot.

The Indian Summer has found its way into the new design concept of the Parkring Restaurant
Vienna Marriott Hotel
Parkring 12A, 1010 Vienna

With its reopening, the Parkring Restaurant of the Vienna Marriott Hotel delights with a new design and color concept, inspired by the famous Indian Summer in the USA. The neighbouring Vienna City Park also goes through a similar play of colours in the change of seasons, which now dominates the interior of the restaurant: Brown wood and warm gold, green and red tones create a cosy atmosphere, punctuated by contrasting blue and turquoise elements. BWM Architects picked up striking elements such as brass and mirrored surfaces from the hotel façade and thoughtfully implemented them inside the restaurant. Cosy corners to linger in and a separate private dining room ensure guests can enjoy their special occasions. A lighting concept with a harmonious interplay of indirect and direct lighting ensures an elegant ambience and the odd romantic candlelit dinner. Through the preparation of Austrian specialities and international dishes at the live cooking station, the culinary delights are preceded by visual and intense impressions, so that all senses are addressed. The Parkring Restaurant has always been a popular meeting place for Viennese and hotel guests. Especially the classic Legendary Brunch, the casual Saturday Shopping Brunch or the romantic Candlelight Dinner complete the spectrum of the restaurant.
