It's no secret that Austria is a very popular photo destination for tourists from all over the world. After all, here you have the choice between imperial court, a Big city as well as a dreamlike natural scenery, which is surrounded by mountains and lakes. There is definitely no shortage of idyllic places to capture in photos!

Here are five of the most beautiful Instagram spots in Austria.

1. Karwendel Mountains, Tyrol

The Karwendel Nature Park is considered the largest national park in Austria. After all, it covers an area of 727 square kilometres and is home to the Karwendel massif as well as lush forests, fairytale alpine meadows, high mountain peaks and moors. With a little luck, you will also discover rare animal and plant species; such as golden eagles, ibexes, wild orchids as well as sycamores. No matter which way you turn: one unforgettable photo motif after the other awaits the visitors.

2. Karlskirche, Vienna

In Austria's capital, it's hard to choose ONE photo spot, as there's a cultural treasure waiting on every corner. But especially the Karlskirche in the center of Vienna attracts countless visitors every year. The large fountain in front of the imposing 18th century sacred building is lined with palm trees and sun-seeking people in summer. The church with its mighty dome is reflected in the water, so you can find a perfect photo motif from any angle.

3rd Getreidegasse, Salzburg

The heart of Salzburg's old town is undisputedly located in the historic Getreidegasse. Next to Mozart's birthplace, the place inspires with an incomparable charm that runs through all the traditional businesses, historic inns and posh boutiques. No wonder that everyone wants to take a photo in the winding alley.

4. Hallstatt, Upper Austria

Not for nothing is Hallstatt considered one of the most popular travel destinations (and photo motifs!) in the world. In China, people are so enthusiastic about the place that they have built their own copy of it without further ado. The idyllic world heritage site from the Salzkammergut region is located directly on Lake Hallstatt and boasts a fantastic mountain backdrop. For many, the place embodies Austria as it is written in the book.

5. plan lake, Tyrol

Tyrol also has a lot of beautiful Instagram spots ready. If you're more drawn to the water, this is the place for you. Like the idyllic Plansee - the second largest lake in Tyrol, which is also a perfect place for photos. A gorgeous beach stretches along the shore and the location is also impressive, as the lake lies at the feet of the Lechtal Alps as well as the Wetterstein Mountains and the Mieminger Range.
