You were born and raised in New York, where you also run a renowned hotel - is there any other city that interests you at all?
Since 2006, London has been my second home, which makes traveling within Europe a lot easier; I can easily take a short trip here and there. I find the energy of the British capital, although very different from New York, just as invigorating. No place is as exciting and special, especially at night!
Which country inspires you the most?
Lebanon with all its history and diversity. The people there are so incredibly resilient and creative - and indescribably hospitable!
Which destination can you return to again and again, no matter how many times you've already visited?
Italy - no matter where: the Dolomites, Umbria, Milan, Rome, Tuscany ... the list is endless!

Is there a travel experience you'll never forget?
Crossing the Drake Strait, north of the Antarctic Peninsula - completely isolated from any civilization, surrounded only by ice and water, you feel very small and powerless.
Where are you going next - and what else is on your bucket list?
At the moment, I'm looking forward to spending some time in New York and occasionally visiting our vacation home on Long Island after spending the last few months shuttling between London and Tuscany to plan my daughter Isabella's wedding, which took place in June. At the top of my bucket list are Japan, Turkey and Sardinia. And I would like to experience the white nights in Sweden and go on a romantic safari.

What products do you never want to be without on a trip?
My iPad, Airpods and a cashmere hoodie are always with me. When traveling, I like to wear flat shoes from Chanel and a pashmina scarf. For my hair, I always have shampoo and conditioner from my own care range DDC28 with me. The Hyaluronic Serum from Dr. Lara Devgan and a cream from Augustinus Bader are also essential for my skincare routine.
Which classic hotel do you like best?
Apart from The Lowell, I think The Connaught in London is fantastic.
Which hotel do you always return to?
The J. K. Place on Capri - my favorite place.

As far as possible, get in touch with locals.
Who would you like to welcome to The Lowell?
Barbie!
