The Seychelles in the Indian Ocean consists of 115 Islands and inspire luxury holidaymakers with white sandy beaches, azure blue water and bright sunshine. Due to the permanently warm temperatures, life in the Seychelles, which do not have a classic rainy season, mainly takes place outside.

1. mahé, the island of diversity

Who travels to the Seychelles, arrives regardless of the final destination island first by plane on Mahé. It is the largest island of the archipelago and stands for diversity. Already the early settlers called it "Ile d'Abondance" - the "island of abundance". Scenic beauty is here in abundance. Mahé offers around 154 square kilometres of area. The island is also home to the world's smallest capital - Victoria.

2. praslin, home of the coco de mer palm tree

Those who travel by boat from Mahé in a northeasterly direction will soon see an elongated, hilly land mass rising from the sea. Shining green, Praslin seems to approach from the horizon. After passing the south coast, a wide, natural bay follows. Praslin is the home of the Coco de Mer palm tree. It is still one of the rarest and most extraordinary plants in the world.

3. La Digue, the eye candy of the Seychelles

La Digue stands for a lot of serenity and tropical idyll. The island combines the scenic characteristics of the archipelago in a uniquely beautiful way. A little more than 3,000 people live on the land mass of just under ten square kilometers in a traditionally shaped lifestyle. Those who want to spend their holidays on the bicycle island of La Digue have the chance to take unique photos here.

4. felicité, the island of bliss

This heavily forested granite island has extensive environmental protection measures that allow for a rich biodiversity with a functioning ecosystem. The Seychelles island is located a few kilometers from the north coast of La Digue. The crossing takes only 20 minutes. While hiking, snorkeling or kayaking, guests let nature completely take over. This is probably also responsible for the name, because Félicité translated means the island of bliss.

5. alphonse, the right place for fly fishers

The small, very fertile island of Alphonse stands out for its striking triangular shape and has a small airfield. Alphonse is considered one of the most beautiful flat coral islands in the Seychelles. Like many other Seychelles islands, it was once a place of intensive coconut cultivation. Fantastic diving grounds await you in the waters around the island. In addition, Alphonse developed due to the favorable conditions within the lagoon to the Eldorado of fly fishermen.

6. frégate, the private treasure island of the seychelles

50 kilometres east of Mahé lies the small granite island of Frégate. The French explorer Lazare Picault gave the island its name in 1744 because of the frigate birds found there. The first visitors to Frégate were probably pirates who had to retreat there. There are various stories about a remaining treasure. On the Seychelles island, which is almost untouched by tourism, a species-rich jungle grows. There is a ban on day-trippers. Guests share the island with over 2000 tortoises as well as hundreds of thousands of birds. The resort's income also goes to conservation projects - an example of how luxury and ecology can be combined.
