In the middle of the Utah desert, surrounded by wild nature and rugged wilderness, lies Camp Sarika. The luxury camp, which is part of the nearby Amangiri Resort, opened this summer and entices with adventure and luxury in harmony with nature. The resort takes luxury glamping to a new level. A 30-minute walk from the main resort, guests discover America's wildest nature this way. From spa treatments to desert hikes, the camp offers the perfect package for every guest. While there, guests can also visit the parent resort, Amangiri, and take advantage of the offerings there.
Private luxury
Ten tented pavilions cover the 55 hectares of land that the camp occupies. At the same time, 30 guests can enjoy the untouched nature and the view of the red table mountains of the desert at Camp Sarika. However, comfort does not have to be sacrificed at all. Each pavilion has its own private pool and terrace. They are arranged in such a way that you can enjoy the view of nature undisturbed and do not feel disturbed by other guests. In the main part of the camp, the restaurant with sundeck, a shared pool, Jacuzzi and two spa suites await the guests.
Natural design
Upon entering the main pavilion, guests are greeted by an art installation by internationally acclaimed artist Maya Lin titled "Wahweap." Inspired by the shape of water as it travels from nearby Lake Powell to Lake Mead, she created the marble and glass artwork, while the open fireplaces and earthy materials further connect the building to its wild surroundings.
Desert Culinary
The restaurant's menu changes daily and attention is paid to regionality. The focus here is also on the cuisine of the Southwest Native Americans. Vegetarian and vegan dishes are on the menu daily. In addition, the camp offers an open kitchen with a rotisserie that serves its dishes on cedar and slate carving boards as a tribute to the wild environment.
Be one with nature
Another highlight is the guided meditation and yoga classes, which are sometimes held in the middle of the wilderness to achieve total relaxation. One yoga class takes place at the summit of Tower Butte, 1,520 meters above sea level, and offers breathtaking views over the desert. You'll be flown there by helicopter, as befits your status, and get a scenic flight over Lake Powell and Glen Canyon at the same time. Spa treatments are based on traditional Navajo wellness practices and Aman Signature Treatments are also available.
Address: 1 Kayenta Rd, Canyon Point, UT 84741, United States.
