Festive fanfare in December

The festivities kick off with the unveiling of the Christmas decorations. At a grand cocktail reception, guests can marvel at the festive floral backdrop by Milan-based designer Vincenzo Dascanio. During a cooking class with chef Michele Zambanini, guests can try their own hand at culinary excellence. He teaches participants how to conjure up the wintery flavors Bella Italia. At a curated wine dinner, the hotel shows off its great selection of fine wines.

On Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Eve, Zambanini will create exclusive themed menus. Spectacular performances by dancers and singers will set a festive mood during the gala dinners. The start of the new year is celebrated with an opulent brunch buffet at the Sala Impero.

Winter wonderland

Cardinal Tolomeo Gallio's former residence may have originally been built for the summer. But this year it will come to life in the winter as well. Romantic walks along the lake and ferry rides to Como make for a magical time in December. Visitors can expect a Christmas in Como that's straight out of a fairytale (or a particularly festive Hallmark movie).

Over the holidays, the city is transformed into a veritable winter wonderland. The impressive light installations at the "Como Magic Light Festival" give the city a magical glow. Renowned artists from Italy and abroad light up the beautiful buildings and squares, while the lovely small boutiques make Christmas shopping a highlight of its own.

Back at the hotel

Back at Villa d'Este, you can enjoy Christmassy treats before retreating back to your room. 152 rooms and luxury suites, as well as four private villas make up the properties accommodations. The views of serene Lake Como in Winter couldn't be more enchanting.
