Spotify goes on board with Delta Air Lines
With Spotify, the airline has the perfect soundtrack for travel!
17 September 2021
Delta Air Lines is looking to use music from Spotify to give passengers the opportunity to experience personalized journeys and stories in-flight. That's why the world's most awarded airline is now partnering with Spotify, the largest audio streaming service in the world, on an exclusive audio experience.
The new entertainment programme on board
Customers can now stream specially selected versions of Spotify's most popular playlists and more than 40 selected podcasts. The program can be accessed directly from the individual screens at each seat. Customers can enjoy eight specially selected versions of playlists, including some of the music streaming provider's most popular. These include: Mood Booster, Relax & Unwind, RapCaviar and Hot Country.
The regular compilation of playlists and podcasts is done just as conscientiously as customers are already used to from Delta's previous entertainment offerings. In this way, the airline ensures that it always offers guests the latest hits and playlists during their journey. They also include a selection of artists and genres that are still unknown and can be discovered by customers.
Association through music from Spotify
Spotify, the world's largest audio streaming service, reaches more than 365 million monthly active users in 178 markets around the world. The collaboration between giants Spotify and Delta Airlines is now bringing listeners closer together through music and podcasts, as songs reflect the world around them and connect them to local culture.
How to use the service
The new audio section can be found within the familiar Delta Studio interface on the screens. To do so, guests simply tap the Audio tab on the left side of the display to browse and select the available options. This allows them to plug in their own headphones directly and the entertainment experience can begin. Excluding 717 aircraft, guests will also be able to stream Spotify directly on their own mobile device with the introduction of fast-streaming Wi-Fi on more routes this year. All they need to do is purchase in-flight Wi-Fi access.
