Royal Thanda Club: A Luxurious Safari Experience Like No Other

To mark its 20th anniversary, Thanda Safari is celebrating the opening of the Royal Thanda Club. It's an even more luxurious way to go on safari.

August 29, 2024

The two Swedish visionaries Christin and Dan Olofsson founded the Thanda Group 20 years ago to become a part of Africa. They wanted to make a long-term commitment there. With the three extraordinary experiences Thanda Safari, Thanda Island and Thanda Classic Cruise as well as long-term conservation and education initiatives, they have been offering travelers unique accommodation since 2002. With the addition of the Royal Thanda Club, luxury takes on a new dimension.

Private residence club

The Royal Residences at the Royal Thanda Club are a special feature. Because they belong to sophisticated families all over the world. Located in the Royal Thanda Club Estate, they are individually designed hideaways. Each Royal Residence reflects the character of its owners. They all combine refinement with architecture, always putting the Zulu spirit at the center. The size of the individual accommodations ranges from 587 square meters to 1,100 square meters. Four to five suites are concealed in the individual villas. They offer unforgettable views of the 14,000-hectare private game reserve, which is also home to the big five.

Some of the owners have decided to make their home available to travelers during their absence. This allows even more people to enjoy the ultimate hospitality of Thanda Safaris. Of course, you can enjoy every conceivable luxury. On private verandas, you'll have a breathtaking view and private swimming pools, whirlpools, air conditioning, indoor and outdoor showers provide additional comfort. It's no wonder that a feeling of absolute tranquillity and inner peace immediately sets in.

Big Five and massages

Every day under the African sun promises to be something special. There's nothing more uplifting than encountering a lion on safari. Twice a day, experienced guides take guests out tracking. You can join an exciting bush walk or read on the veranda and listen to the sounds of nature. For pampering moments, you can book a powerful massage or a relaxing spa treatment. Of course, there are also activities for children. So the whole family can discover their love of nature together.

Vacation with a clear conscience

Thanda Safaris is committed to the protection of wild animals. Thanda's highly qualified wildlife and environmental management team works around the clock to combat rhino and elephant poaching in the region. On the other hand, they also work to preserve the Zulus. Thanda is committed to the socio-economic empowerment of the local Zulu people. 93 percent of the team comes from the immediate neighborhood. This promotes jobs, career advancement, education and the development of skills.
