An Icon on the Coast

Guests who arrive at the iconic hotel immediately feel part of an exclusive society. Even when the hotel opened in 1863 - back then under the name “Villa Soleil” - it was an illustrious society that met here. Initially conceived as a hideaway for writers, the villa was converted into a hotel in 1870. The international jet set quickly arrived. Ernest Hemingway, Marlene Dietrich, Pablo Picasso, F. Scott Fitzgerald and Wallis Simpson were just a few of them. Since then, nothing has changed in terms of offering guests only the best. On the contrary. Since the hotel became a member of the renowned Oetker Collection around ten years ago, it has worked tirelessly to enchant its guests.

After a renovation last year the hotel has a Dior Spa now. The symbol of lightness, elegance and French style is a place of peace and relaxation. A few months ago, the hotel's rooms and suites were renovated on a grand scale. As early as 2023, 46 of the suites were given a makeover, and the 2024 summer season started with a further 34 renovated and redecorated rooms and suites. Bergit Countess Douglas was in charge of the project. In summer, the iconic hotel on the French coast demonstrated its special taste with a tequilaria bar. As guests would also like to have this Riviera feeling at home - as a permanent souvenir of their stay, so to speak - an e-boutique has now been created.
