Tour operator reports 300 per cent increase in bookings after travel relaxations

Sharp rise: Following the announcement by some German states that hotels and restaurants will soon be re open, the adventure travel specialist records Ameropa a threefold increase in booking figures compared with the previous week. According to the report, demand among German holidaymakers for trips within Germany and Switzerland is particularly strong.

Active holidays become a trend

Cycling and hiking holidays are also very popular with holidaymakers. When travelling at home, most holidaymakers from Germany opt for popular regions such as the North Sea and Baltic Sea, the Bavarian Alps and Lake Constance. Cities with lots of greenery, such as Dresden, Freiburg and Hamburg, also recorded significant growth, according to a recent evaluation by the Bad Homburg tour operator. In the case of travel in Switzerland, the rail hiking offers and rail adventure tours are particularly popular.

 Summer holiday within reach

"The enormous growth in bookings proves that people are literally sitting on packed suitcases," sums up Stephanie Schulze zur Wiesch, Managing Director of Ameropa. "Summer holidays are coming within reach for many people. The current progress in Corona vaccinations also contributes to this. However, with the expected run on popular destinations in Germany in particular, holidaymakers should decide quickly as hotel and holiday accommodation capacity is limited."

Flex-Rate offers protection in case of cancellation

The specialist for local destinations and has further expanded its portfolio in recent months and offers customers a variety of options for a varied holiday. With Ameropa's new Flex Rate, holidaymakers can book without worries and remain flexible. Up to 14 days before arrival, customers who book the additional protection can cancel or rebook free of charge and without giving reasons. The Flex rate can be taken out from 1 May to 30 September 2021 for package holidays comprising hotel & rail travel, city breaks and holidays including holiday apartments and theme parks in Germany and Europe, as well as individual Swiss round trips. Additional services such as tickets for musicals or amusement parks are also covered by the protection. The Flex rate also remains valid in the event of a rebooking, as it is simply transferred to the next trip.
