The new Park Hyatt Marrakech: a spectacular debut

Until now, Morocco has been a blind spot on the map of Hyatt's luxury brand; The Park Hyatt Marrakech corrects this oversight with a vengeance.

July 8, 2024

When you think of luxury hotels in Morocco, images of palatial structures or dreamy riads may come to mind. The Park Hyatt Marrakech goes in a completely different direction – but it is no less beautiful for it. As the luxury brand's first hotel in Morocco and only its eleventh in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region, it sets new standards in Marrakech's hotel industry.

A new take on the 1001 Nights

Guests at the new luxury hotel can look forward to a modern property that proudly displays its Arab-Berber roots. Inspired by the ancient treasures of the region, the luxurious and contemporary design was created by renowned architect Imaad Rahmouni. He vouches for its authenticity, as he's a proud local himself. Modern amenities blend with the traditional craftsmanship of the region. The large windows and open spaces make it seem as if the living space extends outside.

The 130 rooms and suites are among the most spacious in Marrakech. Their Moroccan flair is emphasized by traditional woven Berber carpets made of pure wool, headboards with the Tataoui motif, modern works of art and breathtaking views of the Atlas Mountains. The 16 pavilions are grouped around a central courtyard, with the estate covering a total of 7.5 hectares. Its lush garden, overgrown with palm, olive and jacaranda trees, invites you to take a stroll.

Authentic experiences

If you wish, you can use the golf course at the neighboring Al Maaden Golf Resort for a relaxed tee off. And a special golfing experience. Or you can visit the Medina, which is just 9 km from the hotel. The Park Hyatt Marrakech also offers more unusual activities: For example, guests can enjoy breakfast on a hot air balloon ride over the Atlas Mountains or dine in a Bedouin tent. "It offers guests a unique opportunity to discover the beauty of the Red City through this modern and luxurious retreat," says Javier Águila, Group President EAME, Hyatt.

Art-lovers don't even have to leave the resort. Thanks to an exclusive collaboration with the Moroccan center for contemporary art, Ifitry, more than 700 paintings and decorative objects are scattered throughout the property. Artists from Morocco, Senegal, Benin, Spain, France, Italy and Japan have been specially commissioned to contribute to the Park Hyatt Marrakech. The pièce de résistance, however, is a masterful installation by visual artist Mounat Charrat, which is combined with two abstract paintings by Gianni Lucchesi.

A place of well-being

Naturally, guests are also offered only the best culinary delights. The arabesque brasserie TFAYA, for example, is the stage of Moroccan chef Issam Rhachi. He cooks with an avant-garde approach and serves dishes such as lobster mechoui in a marinade of black garlic, pickled lemon, saffron, cumin and smoked paprika. Lighter dishes can be enjoyed in Le Pavillon, while the Living Room invites you to enjoy tapas, cocktails and tea surrounded by bookshelves.

Guests of the Park Hyatt Marrakech reach another level of well-being in the 2,200 square meter spa. Here you can relax and enjoy authentic hammam rituals and holistic therapies. The high-quality natural products from Sodashi are a special feature. They are made by hand from the purest natural ingredients. They also use Nectarome, a brand that channels Moroccan traditions. It goes without saying that the treatments are of the highest quality. A fitness center and several pools are also available.
