Since its founding in Hong Kong in 1963, the Asian luxury hotel group Mandarin Oriental has continued to develop steadily. Today, it operates 36 hotels and seven residences in 24 countries. While each property is unique, the brand's DNA remains the same: first-class service, culinary delights that meet the highest standards and annexes in the world's most beautiful locations. Historical elegance, modern sophistication
The new luxury address in Zurich is actually not that new. Johannes Baur founded a hotel here as early as 1838. It was the first Grand Hotel in the city. Then, as now, it was located just a few steps from the elegant boutiques and the historic old town. The promenade leading to Lake Zurich begins right outside the front door. What is new, however, is the interior. And when it comes to culinary delights, guests can also look forward to exceptional experiences.

The architect Tristan Auer was responsible for the former, the interior design. The Parisian master of his trade was already responsible for such renowned projects as the Carlton Cannes, parts of the Hotel Crillon and the Mandarin Oriental Paris. Now, at the Zurich property, he created interiors that emphasize historical details with understated modernity. Pared-down style and a rather monochromatic color palette act as a canvas, against which historical elements can shine. Hand-painted silk wallpaper and high-end furnishings add sophistication.

A total of 44 rooms and suites were created. The latter are among the largest of their kind in the whole of Zurich. Guests with special space requirements are best accommodated in the apartment. It has four bedrooms spread over 275 square meters of living space. But even if you only book a room or suite, sufficient space and luxurious amenities are guaranteed. For example, the beautiful views of the Swiss Alps or Lake Zurich.
Facets of pleasure
When it comes to culinary delights, the Mandarin Oriental Savoy treats its guests to four restaurants. While glamorous cocktails and French-inspired cuisine are on the menu at the Savoy Brasserie & Bar, ORSINI focuses on Italian cucina.

To ensure that this also succeeds authentically, Antonio Guida was engaged as head chef. He's no stranger to the restaurant; after all, his Restaurant Seta at the Mandarin Oriental Milan was awarded two stars by the Michelin Guide. The new Rooftopbar 1838 with Asian delicacies and the Mandarin Lounge complete the offer.

The third Swiss Mandarin Oriental also offers the perfect setting for unforgettable events. Every wedding, party or company celebration becomes an elegant experience. For this purpose, the grand ballroom has been restored to its former glory. Stucco, mirrors and high ceilings are reminiscent of times long past.
