When Roberto Polito and Carlo Ponti, film producer and husband of Sophia Loren, bought a plot of land on the Tuscan coast together in the 1970s, just because they liked it so much, they had no idea that they were laying the foundation for a flourishing hotel business. In 1974, the Baglioni Resort Cala del Porto opened as the brand's first property. Nine more - including in London, France and the Maldives - followed. The latest addition returns to its roots. It is nestled in the unspoiled natural landscape of the Tavolara Marine Reserve on the northeast coast of Sardinia. Already it is a member of the Leading Hotels of the World. Suite Dreams with a view

A full four acres of gardens and land surround the resort. Golfing, jogging, mountain biking, horseback riding and yoga are just some of the activities guests can indulge in. His light, refined creations, combined with his relentless search for the best ingredients and recipes, tantalise the senses.
