Five-star resort in new splendour

New York designer Yuji Yamazaki is responsible for the redesign of the exclusive five-star hotel. With the help of a light colour scheme and linear furniture, he creates an airy spatial concept while maintaining the modern-colonial style of the resort. With just 20 villas, Naladhu offers maximum privacy and seclusion amidst the island's tropical vegetation. In the garden of each house, a local flower blooms, which also gives its name to the respective villa. While the Beach Houses score with direct access to the lagoon, the Ocean Houses impress with a spacious panoramic terrace and a private beach cabana.

Both the Beach Houses and the Ocean Houses extend over a living area of 300 square meters including private pool. At the top of the island is the two-bedroom Pool Residence. With 600 square meters and a 20 meter long private beach, it is a special highlight for those seeking tranquility and luxury. Naladhu Private Island is part of an island ensemble, so holidaymakers can also use the facilities of Anantara Veli and Anantara Dhigu. On the edge of a pristine lagoon in South Malé Atoll, it is just 30 minutes by luxury speedboat from Malé's Velana International Airport. An overnight stay in a Beach House for up to two people costs from €1,654 including breakfast.

The luxury is extended

The Naladhu Private Island also convinces with luxurious amenities such as the 24-hour butler service and the concept "No-Menu Dine Anywhere", which allows guests to enjoy their meal anytime and anywhere in the resort. On the culinary front, Peruvian chef Patricio Basombrio Cedano and his team will treat guests to Arabic, Italian and French specialties, as well as signature dishes from Sri Lanka, Japan or Indonesia. The renovation of the restaurant, the bar and the wine cellar, as well as the expansion of the spa area with additional treatment rooms, complete the transformation.

And physical well-being and health will also be catered for: a nutritional and naturopathic therapist will be on hand to advise guests on how to discuss and reduce stress, sleep problems or unhealthy eating habits, for example, or to discuss ways of strengthening digestion, hormone and blood sugar balance and the immune system.

Focus on sustainability

Sustainability is also a top priority at the new Naladhu Private Island. In collaboration with the Parley Air program, which is dedicated to reducing plastic waste and recycling, the use of single-use plastic has been banned at the resort. The property also offers guided walks around the island to familiarise guests with the ecosystem and flora and fauna of the Maldives. Likewise, the in-house marine biologist is available for informational talks to share his expertise on the ocean and its colorful underwater world. Prior to the renovation, the resort donated the existing hotel furniture to the Maldives Mental Health Hospital.
