In June, top chef Benedikt Arps took over the position of chef de cuisine at the first-class Hotel Excelsior and its popular wine restaurant, VINOTHEK. "Honest, clear and authentic cuisine. The essence is the product, it is the focus and stand out through excellent quality," is how Arps describes his style of cooking.

Arps completed his apprenticeship at the Ambassador Hotel & Spa in Sankt Peter-Ording. Afterward, he moved to Sylt – initially for two years at the AROSA Resort and then for a further five at the renowned Söl'ring Hof, which boasts two stars in the Michelin Guide. At the latter, the native of Schleswig-Holstein most recently worked as head chef. "I am really looking forward to the new challenge and would like to offer our guests a wonderful culinary time in our Vinothek. Here, Mediterranean lightness meets carefully selected seasonal ingredients from regional suppliers. Our cuisine is characterized by freshness and an ethereal herbal note."

The Excelsior by Geisel is located in the heart of Munich, just a 20-minute walk from the world-famous Marienplatz. The Vinothek by Geisel stocks more than 800 wines from the world's best regions and offers excellent Mediterranean-inspired Bavarian dishes. There is a show kitchen where cooking courses are offered on request.
