Six Senses Plans Spectacular New Openings
The luxury hotel brand already operates 23 hotels and resorts in 18 countries. Next year, four new Six Senses resorts are to be added to the portfolio. But are they worth the hype?
November 8, 2023
Community and sustainability, emotional hospitality, wellness and local craftsmanship: the various hotels and resorts of Six Senses are united by a distinctive brand DNA. Whether you find yourself in an exquisite island resort or a hideaway in the mountains is irrelevant. Because this feeling of having arrived can be experienced in all of the brand's 23 hotels and resorts to date. Now four new Six Senses resorts are set to open in the next 12 months. Will they also deliver what the name promises?
Six Senses Southern Dunes, The Red Sea

Rooms & suites: 36 guest rooms and suites, 40 pool villas

The Six Senses Southern Dunes, The Red Sea is already in the starting blocks. It'll be the Saudi Arabian debut of Six Senses. The design should be just as enchanting as a story from the Arabian Nights. Desert accents are therefore used as design elements. The individual villas are spread out on hills and therefore offer unique views. The centerpiece is The Oasis with its lobby, boutique, meeting and prayer rooms and the Earth Lab. Of course, guests can also look forward to the proven Six Senses Spa. Highlights include the anti-aging center and a spa suite.
Six Senses La Sagesse, Grenada
Opening: Early 2024
Rooms & suites: 56 rooms, 7 villas with 1 bedroom, 5 villas with 2 bedrooms

With the opening of Six Senses La Sagesse, there'll be another debut to celebrate in spring 2024. Six Senses will then also conquer the Caribbean! As has already become a beautiful tradition, both the interior and exterior design are inspired by the surroundings. Traditional architecture meets special details, such as the paths through the gardens made from recycled nutmeg and cocoa shells. And these paths should always lead to the spa (with a view of the lagoon and designed in the shape of a fishing village). Time out and action are always just a few steps away from each other. The Experience Center also offers water sports activities, day trips, workshops and forest baths. Tip: Yoga by candlelight! Many of the restaurant ingredients are home-grown.
Six Senses Kyoto
Opening: First half of 2024
Rooms & suites: 81 rooms

The Japanese house will blend into the urban jungle like an oasis. The most beautiful elements of Kyoto, such as Buddhist temples, palaces, cherry orchards and traditional architecture, will also be reflected in the Six Senses Kyoto. There are 81 rooms arranged around an inner courtyard. And they are characterized by Japanese minimalism. Straight lines, an earthy color palette and authentic decorations ensure a homely feel. Tea ceremonies and traditional healing methods in the spa uphold the Japanese heritage. From a culinary perspective, a trip to the specialty sushi restaurant or the Brew Bar is recommended. And kids are already looking forward to the educational "Grow With Six Senses" activities.
Six Senses London
Opening: Late 2024
Rooms & suites: 110 guest rooms and suites, 14 residences

Tailor-made interior design, concierge service, the finest wellness and an extensive gastronomic offering: The plans for new Six Senses resorts also include an opening in the Thames metropolis. As an unusual asset, the spa interiors will be reminiscent of historic London Underground stations. In the fitness area, you'll never miss a training day, even on vacation. Guests can also enjoy a 20-metre indoor pool. Naturally, a team of experts will take care of wellness and spa treatments. And as an underlying theme, the hotel will embrace the vibe of the city: the hustle and bustle of the city as well as historical heritage and quiet moments.
