New hotels in Florence: these hotels score on all levels
Elegant, playful, literary and surprising: this is how four new hotels in Florence present themselves, opening their doors in time for autumn.
6 September 2021
Florence - a city whose sounding name promises many things: culture, pleasure, architecture and Italian dolce vita. Holidays in the heart of the baroque city are now even more beautiful, because just in time for the high season for city trips, four new hotels are now opening in Florence, which should be on the bucket list of every trip to the capital of Tuscany for a variety of reasons.
25hours Hotel Piazza San Paolino
The boutique chain makes its Italo debut in the authentic Florentine district of Santa Maria Novella, far from the tourist crowds. The hotel, once a convent, is located at the back of the Museo del Novecento, between the elegant Via de Fossi with its antiques and the popular Via Palazzuolo. What makes it special is its interior design. This was done by Paola Navone from Milan. She was inspired by Dante Alighieri's work "The Divine Comedy". The allusions to the literary masterpiece can be found in the 25hours Hotel Piazza San Paolino on every corner.

Il Tornabuoni Hotel
Named after the Via de' Tornabuoni, the five-star luxury hotel will welcome guests from 1 October 2021. The 62 rooms and suites, the gourmet restaurant Lucie, Il Magnifico Bar and Restaurant and The Butterfly Terrace on five floors bring back memories of glamorous times long gone. Luxurious furniture, vibrant hues reminiscent of gemstones and details such as custom-made wallpaper play a significant role in this. The rooms and suites, some of which are in vintage style, fit perfectly into their surroundings. The hotel is housed in the Palazzo Minerbetti, an imposing building from the 12th century.

Dimora Palanca

Already in the 19th century, the estate near the Porta al Prato was a meeting place for the Florentine artist scene. This has not changed to this day - on the contrary. A 50-piece collection of modern art by Paolo Dovichi complements the former palazzo these days. Guests in the 18 rooms enjoy an almost royal ambience thanks to high ceilings, stucco on the walls, a reduced colour palette and immaculate parquet flooring. Dining is in the Mimesi restaurant, where fine dining by Giovanni Cerroni is the motto. Cerroni, who has worked with Michelin chefs in Puglia and Tuscany, serves outstanding Italian cuisine made from the highest quality ingredients. A special feature, however, is the wonderful garden - one of only a few within the city walls.

The Place Firenze
The palazzo that houses The Place Firenze is not coincidentally reminiscent of the nearby basilica. The motifs, design and lettering of the façade, completed in 1470, were the main inspiration for The Place Firenze. Designed by Leon Battista Alberti, one of the city's most extraordinary humanists, writers, mathematicians and architects, the Basilica is considered one of the city's gems. General Manager Cladio Meli and his team brought much of that splendor inside the hotel. For 17 years now, it has stood for outstanding service, meticulous design and excellent facilities. The current facelift has done nothing to change that. On the contrary. What has always been perfect in this member of the Leading Hotels of the World, remained so. What it wasn't, it became.
