The opening of Bar 37 at The Woodward enriches Geneva's nightlife and delights design fans.

July 19, 2024

Woodward Geneva has been one of the best addresses in the city since it opened in July 2021. It makes the headlines time and again. For example, with the opening of the first Guerlain spa in Switzerland or its own delicatessen. Now there's more news directly from the beautiful member of the Oetker Collection. Three years after its opening, parts of the Masterpiece Hotel have already been renovated to present guests with a new bar in Geneva that has it all.

Design dream on Quai Wilson

The cocktail and piano bar was designed by none other than the renowned architect Pierre-Yves Rochon. He transformed one of the manor's breathtaking verandas into a feel-good space. Guests can either sit on the terrace or inside on red velvet chairs. Here, you can enjoy the view of Lake Geneva and the surrounding mountains. While first-class music plays in the background, the award-winning team spoils you with an exceptional food and drink menu.

Maxwell Britten is a consultant who has already worked for Maison Premiere and Bar Django in New York. Incidentally, the former was delighted to receive a James Beard award. Olivier Jean, the two Michelin-starred head chef of the establishment, and patissier Titouan Claudet also created delicacies for the guests of the new bar in Geneva. Culinary excellence, elegance and charm take center stage.

A little bit of New York in Geneva

Pierre-Yves Rochon was not the only one to be inspired by the successful sister concept Bar Bastion in New York City. They also want to catch up with the city that never sleeps when it comes to musical performances. The stage therefore welcomes artists of world renown. They enrich and complement the sophisticated atmosphere of Bar 37. On Thursdays and Fridays, guests can listen to well-known international live artists as well as up-and-coming local talents.

The pièce de résistance of Bar 37 is also used here: a hand-polished, antique piano from 1920. Another highlight is the dark bar, made of marble. It stands against the backdrop of a colorful glass wall. In addition, the aforementioned red velvet armchairs and dark green curtains create a sophisticated atmosphere. Anyone looking for a special place for a private event can retreat to the adjoining lounge. It boasts privacy, a marble fireplace and ebony walls.

More than just bar snacks

"Our new Cocktail Bar & Piano Lounge 37 is a fabulous addition to Geneva's vibrant nightlife scene. With the expertise of the iconic Bastion Collection concept in the heart of Manhattan, we have designed a great bar and look forward to inviting our guests to experience the next chapter of The Woodward and create unforgettable moments in this historic building," said Jean-Marie Le Gall, General Manager of The Woodward.

So that even the hungry don't miss out, there are bar snacks designed by chef Olivier Jean . They outdo each other in terms of sophistication. Think, for example, of spicy cucumber with sesame seeds, Swiss beef sliders with cheddar or tuna tartare with lemongrass and crispy rice. Signature cocktails and the finest vintages from the extensive wine list complete the offer. Maxwell Britten's curated cocktail menu includes specialties such as strawberry-infused Pimms and celery water as well as the elegant Apricot Senata with Clase Azul Blanco, apricot and vanilla essence. The extensive selection of mocktails was also extremely creative.
