It's the opening of the year: today, Rosewood Vienna has finally opened its doors to the former headquarters of the renowned financial institution Erste Group, which is now home to supreme luxury in Vienna's city center. Located directly on Petersplatz, it's just steps away from the decadent stores and restaurants of the famous Graben, Kohlmarkt and Tuchlauben, as well as numerous cultural and historical sights.

New luxury for Austria's Capital at Rosewood Vienna
The most livable city in the world has just become even more luxurious. With 71 spacious guest rooms and 28 suites adorned with unusual works by contemporary artists, the new hotel is already welcoming its first guests. A brasserie on the sixth floor and a bar on the roof also offer breathtaking views over downtown Vienna. The two Viennese architecture firms A2K and BEHF were responsible for the redesign of the spacious neoclassical bank building, which was designed in 1835 by the Austrian architect Alois Pichl; the luxury hotel was furnished by the London interior design firm Alexander Waterworth.

The light-filled guest rooms reflect the unique heritage of the Austrian capital. Custom-made furniture and distinctive fabrics by Backhausen, a company founded in 1849, known for its Viennese Art Nouveau patterns, are unmistakably Viennese. In collaboration with art agency Atelier27, works by leading international artists have been commissioned, including illustrations, archival gold-leaf prints, photographs, paper cuts, lithographs and wall sculptures.

Culinary hotspot in the city center
For a long time, hotels in Vienna were almost exclusively frequented by tourists and travelers. Now that tide is turning as Viennese locals increasingly seek out the bars and restaurants of the city's best hotels. Rosewood Vienna is bound to become a beloved spot with the Viennese as well. European dishes and Austrian classics with seasonal and market-fresh ingredients are served at Neue Hoheit, the in-house brasserie. The restaurant on the 6th floor of Rosewood Vienna will undoubtedly become the new meeting place in the center of the old town in no time.

The dining room and show kitchen adjoin an outdoor terrace, while the garden room and the secret garden offer guests the opportunity to dine in an intimate atmosphere. The sophisticated rooftop bar one floor up is inspired by a classic speakeasy. A selection of signature drinks as well as classic and innovative cocktails guarantee unforgettable moments amid stunning views.

Urban oasis
The Asaya Spa, which will open in September, spans two floors of the hotel and will offer treatments and therapies inspired by Austria's world-renowned wellness traditions. Guests are greeted at the reception desk on the sixth floor, which also features a relaxation area, sauna, steam room and experience shower. Four treatment rooms and a social suite are located on the fifth floor.
