This brings Saudi Arabia's goal of transporting at least 330 million passengers and bringing 150 million tourists to the country by 2030 a good deal closer. The new route is also a major step for Saudi Vision 2030, which is aiming for 250 direct connections by the end of the decade. In addition, the Pilgrim Experience Program will also benefit from easier connections to the holy sites of Mecca and Medina.
