Award-winning cuisine

The flagship property of the luxurious The Lux Collective hotels is already a perfect destination for gourmets. Its F&B concept has received multiple awards. Recently, Walima by Bisou opened its doors, adding a fourth contemporary restaurant to the offerings. The ambiance alone is captivating, featuring a tropical design that provides a stunning backdrop for the cuisine of Lebanese Chef Hani Totonji and new Moroccan Chef Naima Moussaoui.

The name "Walima" offers a hint at the restaurant's philosophy. Translated from Arabic, it means "feast." That’s exactly what LUX* Grand Baie aims to provide its guests: exquisite dishes served in a generous sharing style. Bold spices and traditional recipes are used and reimagined for the modern palate. "Our goal is to bring people together through new creations that reflect the beauty of both cultures," says Hani Totonji.

From tajine to cocktails

One of these popular and traditional dishes is Tajine, which can now be enjoyed in Mauritius. At Walima by Bisou, the experience is crafted using authentic techniques and ingredients. "I am proud to share my culinary heritage here in Mauritius. This humble clay pot dish from Morocco has transcended generations and borders, embodying the essence of joy and togetherness through sharing a meal," says Chef Naima Moussaoui. The menu also features tasting menus, hummus, moutabal, kibbeh, fish sayadieh, stuffed grape leaves, and baklava.

The restaurant on the Bisou Rooftop also offers delightful cocktails. Another highlight is the modern art installation, which enhances the cheerful ambiance. To symbolize authentic Moroccan hospitality, Moroccan team members welcome guests with a special hand ritual featuring orange blossoms. To round off the experience, guests enjoy a traditional tea ceremony.
