The luxury brand EDITION, conceptualized with the creative vision of Ian Schrager, has now also reached Spain's exciting capital. The urban luxury lifestyle resort The Madrid EDITION in the heart of the city at Plaza de La Descalzas is, with The Barcelona EDITION, the second hotel of the chain in Spain. And is already, without a doubt, one of the top hotels in the capital.
Design jewel in the center of Madrid
The Madrid EDITION remains true to the concept of the luxury brand and combines the essence of the metropolis with the contemporary-elegant style of the hotel chain. In the exciting design mix, the elegant, clean style of British architect John Pawson confronts the originality of Parisian François Champsaur - despite all the contrasts, a successful combination.
The building presents itself with a modern linear facade, complemented by a decorative baroque portal from the 18th century. Inside, the beautifully shaped spiral staircase elicits an impressed "wow" from guests: it leads into the heart of the hotel, the convivial lobby, with its corrugated ceiling and custom-made designer furniture, for example by Jean-Michel Frank or Maison Intègre.
Ian Schrager himself is enthusiastic about The Madrid EDITION, which is more than "just" a hotel: "It is a true center for popular culture, entertainment and social interaction. [...] The idea is to create an original and novel meeting place for locals and visitors alike."
Sleep like Snow White in The Madrid EDITION
It's almost a promise that the 200 rooms and suites at The Madrid EDITION whisper in their guests' ears: pure white, select, chic furnishings, minimalist design - here, sleeping becomes a dream. Impressively, on the 4th floor, await two of the largest penthouses in all of Madrid. The west-facing maisonettes feature soft white and cream tones, natural textures of wood, limestone, and linen. And they offer pure luxury, such as a butler's kitchen or a panoramic terrace with an outdoor infinity pool. We love!
¡Que aproveche! Culinary in the new EDITION
Two award-winning and world-renowned chefs are responsible for the culinary concepts behind the two restaurants at EDITION: Enrique Olvera, the owner of the renowned Pujol in Mexico, is the chef de cuisine at Jerónimo. Here, authentic Mexican dishes are served at their finest. Diego Muñoz, who established one of the best restaurants in Latin America with Astrid Y Gaston in Lima, is the man behind the excellent tapas at Oroya. This already elevates the new resort to one of the top gourmet addresses in Madrid - and beyond.
The Madrid EDITION also has three unique bar concepts that make the night the best part of the day: The Lobby Bar is the hotel's social hotspot, while Asian bites and drinks can be found in the trendy Punch Room.
