The OKU Hotels, which were founded in 2020 under the management of Hotel Brands International Limited, are already among the world's top hotels. Their mix of outstanding design, trendy destinations, relaxing wellness offerings and understated luxury has earned them the seal of approval by discerning travelers. On the culinary level, the chain manages to score points for creativity and taste as well. This is also the case at the OKU Ibiza. The new restaurant at the Ibizan hideaway launches its summer comeback with a new menu and trend-setting design.
Design meets dinner
The renowned design studio Woodfever is responsible for the OKU's redesign. Guests dine in stylish ambience between industrial and Japo style, with a special focus on the elegant interplay of light and shadow. Natural materials such as dark wood are complemented by earthy hues, bird-of-paradise plants and graphic patterns. Those who make themselves at home in the cozy corners will quickly fall in love with the welcoming flair of the newly opened place.
Menu à la Vaessen
The interiors aren't the OKU's only noteworthy news, its cuisine deserves a mention as well: chef Mark Vaessen has combined Japanese-international fusion cuisine and diverse raw foods for his new menu, which features seasonal, local, and sustainable ingredients cooked on robata and hibachi grills. His omakase is a personal highlight of ours.

Guests are in for a very personal experience if they opt for the dishes that are served directly at the table. Those who want to take their culinary experience a step further can hone their culinary skills in private or group cooking courses.
Good to know:
Dutch chef Mark Vaessen perfected his skills in Japanese cuisine alongside the famous chef Oshima at Sushisamba in Amsterdam. At his side is Aleksandar Todorov: he was awarded best chef in his home country of Bulgaria in 2017 – at the age of just 13 – and worked at Sushisamba, among other places, before joining the OKU's kitchen staff.
