Kickoff with 12 buildings
So far, more than 110 hotels with a total of more than 11,500 rooms are being planned. Twelve of these have already been contractually secured, and five of them will open in the first trimester of 2023. The plans for the expansion are big. The Handwritten Collection is expected to comprise more than 250 hotels by 2030.

"Our goal is to provide an authentic experience to our guests, and to also support the growing number of independent boutique hotels that want to raise their global profile, attract more guests and increase revenue without losing their identity," Alex Schellenberger explains.

The Chief Marketing Officer of Accor's Premium, Midscale & Economy Brands continued, "The hotels included in the Handwritten Collection, are chosen by travelers who appreciate warm travel experiences and traditional hospitality with a twist, as well as by hoteliers who want to cherish the unique personality of their properties while taking advantage of working with a leading global partner."
Hosts with passion
The Handwritten Collection connects personalities and hotels. The latter reflect the warmth and character of the people who look after them. The personal touch of the host should be noticeable during the stay. This begins with a warm welcome, like a handwritten note. And it continues past small treats and attentions. Accor is certain: Guests will be surprised.

"Whether in a social setting or in the quiet of a hotel room, there will be moments of storytelling and interaction that create a real connection. This connection between hosts and guests contributes to a meaningful and memorable stay," said Caroline Bérnard, Global SVP Economy & Midscale Brands, Accor. Two of the brand's hotels, the Hotel Shanghai Sheshan Oriental in Shanghai/China and the Le Saint Gervais Hotel & Spa are already open. Two hotels in Australia will follow in February.
