The summer holiday is approaching with great strides! Many countries in Europe have already relaxed their travel regulations. However, since the same rules do not apply in every country, one can get confused and think twice about whether one should book a holiday immediately and wait a little longer. A very popular destination with a fair weather guarantee is in any case Greece. Here's a brief overview of what to look out for on a holiday in the land of the gods.

These rules apply on entry

Due to falling Corona numbers and in order to boost tourism again, Greece has relaxed entry requirements. Holidaymakers from the EU no longer have to quarantine themselves. However, it is required that travellers must either be fully vaccinated, recovered from a Corona infection or tested. Test evidence is a rapid antigen test no more than 48 hours old or a PCR test no more than 72 hours old. In addition, as was the case last year, holidaymakers must register before travelling via the website travel.gov.gr .

Corona measures in Greece

In the meantime, almost all hotels and resorts are welcoming guests again and also the historic sights and museums are accessible again. Restaurants, bars and cafés have reopened in the outdoor areas - but only a maximum of six people (who are vaccinated, recovered or tested) are allowed to sit at a table. Closing time is at 00:00, as nightly curfew restrictions apply from 00:30 to 5:00. There is still a mask requirement in enclosed areas and certain outdoor public places. In addition, distancing rules must be respected.

What has be considered when returning to Austria

The good news is that holidaymakers do not have to go into quarantine when returning to Austria. However, travellers must register their Pre-Travel Clearance . However, this can be done up to 72 hours before entry.

In addition, the 3-G rule is observed upon entry: a valid test result, proof of vaccination or a convalescence certificate is required.
