On July 1, one of Southern Styria's top resorts, Golden Hill Country Chalets & Suites, basked in the glow of a good cause, thanks to the noble charity event "Cooks cook for children" on behalf of SOS Children's Village. Amid the breathtaking ambience of Golden Hill, around 120 guests were able to taste the creations of culinary icons such as Didi Dorner, Didi Maier, Robert Letz, Marco Simonis and Jürgen Vigne. Excellent weather as well as dedicated and motivated people made the evening a great success for children in need.
The hosts at Golden Hill, owners Barbara and Andreas Reinisch, were overwhelmed: "This exceptional event was an exciting premiere for us! We are delighted that so many people were here today to join forces for a good cause. It was really important for us to be able to give as many children as possible a few golden moments. And we are extremely grateful and happy that a proud total of € 38,300 was raised today."

Auctions & Entertainment
Highlights of the extensive program were an English & American as well as Silent Auction, moderated with much charm and wit by Michael Ostrowski. Among the auction items was the legendary Schwarzenegger portrait by Christoph Palaschke, who himself was present. With a proud sum of € 18,000, it found a determined buyer. Another highlight was the auction of the Golden Hill bracelet, designed by Anna Zehenthofer/Stone Age Fine Jewels; it found a new owner for € 4,300. A big thank you to Anna and Markus Zehenthofer for their active support!
Many prominent artists and guests such as singer Sandra Pires, musician Desmond Doyle, the folk musicians Knöpferlstreich, tenor 7Ray and Styrian State Councilor Barbara Eibinger-Miedl ensured an exuberant atmosphere at Golden Hill. Magician Christoph Kulmer enchanted the guests with innovative magic; while the charming Alexandra Meissnitzer acted as master of ceremonies.
"This event leaves an excellent aftertaste. In your palate and especially in your heart," said the delighted initiator of the event, Renate Zierler. "I'm very happy that we were able to welcome such greats here today in such an enchanting place, and all for the benefit of SOS Children's Villages."
