From scotch eggs to sticky toffee pudding: Calum Franklin, also known as the Pie King, wants to give the French a taste for English cuisine. He has now opened the British brasserie Public House just a few steps away from the Paris Opera. Interior designer Laura Gonzalez has woven in allusions to British design - guests will find checkered fabric chairs, bar stools in a tartan pattern and striped carpets reminiscent of British school uniforms.

Banderas Bodega

Hollywood star Antonio Banderas often likes to slip into different roles. His favorite, however, is that of the host and co-owner of the famous bodega El Pimpi in Málaga. The Spaniard visited the institution with his parents as a child. Now he's stepping up his El Pimpi commitment and is opening a second branch in the posh Puente Romano Beach Resort in Marbella.

Veni, Vidi, Via Toledo

This year, Vienna can boast Europe's best pizza for the first time. It's Nero di Marinara, created by pizza chef Francesco Calò - owner of Via Toledo Enopizzeria in Vienna's eighth district, which has also been named the best pizzeria in Austria. Since 2020, the Apulian has been a permanent fixture in the top 6 of the 50 Top Pizza Europe, which was awarded this year in Madrid. In the overall ranking of the best pizzerias, Calò and its Via Toledo took third place this year behind Napoli on the Road (London) and Sartoria Panatieri (Barcelona).
