The four-star-superior-hotel Höflehner surprises with three new culinary concepts
Natural culinary delights at their best.

In Schladming, the four-star Hotel Höflehner stretches at an altitude of over 1,000 metres. While guests enjoy the accommodation as a retreat, gourmets are also spoiled. The Hotel has made good use of the time in lockdown and now surprises with numerous culinary highlights packed into three new worlds of enjoyment.
Fresh and regional
Culinary dreams are born when the team at the Höflehner Nature and Wellness Hotel experiments with crunchy vegetables, fresh wild herbs and regional delicacies. During the past year, the entrepreneurial family has developed a completely new food concept. "The reopening is the perfect premiere - we are starting a new, culinary era together with our first guests," Gerhard Höflehner says happily.
Together with his wife Katrin, he has turned nature into an inspiring kitchen helper: "We assume that during the lockdown, amateur chefs and gourmets unfolded among our guests. The guest is becoming more and more demanding and quality-loving. This motivated us to develop a brand new concept", explains Katrin Höflehner. For chef Martin Dicker it is "a unique challenge! I love to cook innovatively and implement colourful ideas with the claim of a sustainable philosophy in the kitchen."
The three pleasure worlds - from hiking snacks to gourmet dinners
The message of the new concept is "back to nature". Whereby at a sea level of 1,117 metres, you don't need to go back, but only to the door. "It's so simple and beautiful here on the Gumpenberg," Gerhard Höflehner enthuses. As a true mountain expert, he stands for the first of the three pillars of "Gerhard's healthy enjoyment": culinary delights should be balanced and digestible, strengthening you for the next hike. Sophisticated, vital enjoyment makes you agile and strengthens you from the inside. That's exactly what active people like Gerhard need for breakfast - as a basis for the adventure ahead. Gerhard loves to bite into a still warm, homemade bread with curd spread and freshly harvested cress on top: "A snack that tastes good at any time of day fills the belly and gives you strength - simply: a healthy pleasure.
In "Katrin's creative kitchen", food is an experience for all the senses. Culinary curiosity is the best prerequisite for a journey through her world. Her favourite dishes are a colourful bowl based on quinoa, with locally caught fish and pomegranate seeds as a refreshing topping, to name just the three main ingredients. Dishes here are not only allowed to taste good but also to look particularly good - at the same time, people like to think outside the box: Experiments with oriental spices or Mediterranean herbs enchant familiar dishes with international flair.
It is not just a rumour that the Höflehners get to the root of the matter. That's exactly why they as a family stand for the third pillar of the Nature Culinary. With "Höflehners heimische Hausmannskost" they go back to the roots. Hearty and rustic, traditional and excellent. Old recipes, newly interpreted classics and cosiness when consumed are the crowning glories of an unadulterated love of home. When cooking for the family, the focus is usually on the Wiener Schnitzel - accompanied by potato salad according to their grandma's secret recipe, which has been optimized over generations.
An exclusive hotel in lofty heights
The hotel convinces all along the line. The wellness area extends over 3,700 square metres and promises pure relaxation. Those who want to be a little more active have the opportunity to practice yoga outdoors and in the forest or to go on guided hikes. The rooms of the hotel are bright and modernly furnished, allowing guests to fully relax.
