das SALZ is located in the up-and-coming district of Lehen between the train station and the city center, which is just a short walk away. Formerly a 1920s townhouse, the building was acquired by VO Immobilien in 2019 and underwent a complete renovation. The main focus was on creating an unconventional hotel, including so-called "secret spots": throughout the house, guests come across old telephone systems that reveal interesting facts and tips about Salzburg via audio tracks.

A digital endeavor
Convenience at the forefront: at das SALZ, all bureaucratic matters – such as the front desk as well as room keys – have been moved to the digital level. Guests can book their favorite room online, with or without breakfast, and upon arrival, check themselves in and unlock their room via a PIN code. Nevertheless, a guest experience team is available to answer any questions and provide help where needed.
Room for curiosity

The 30 rooms in seven categories were designed by BWM Architekten from Vienna. The accommodations are elegant and modern at the same time. The highlights are the individual extras that each of the thirty rooms has. These include reading windows and access to the guest garden, a rooftop retreat and a private mini-golf course.
Culinary treats
Whether you're really hungry, need a quick coffee to go or a pick-me-up snack, the café/day bar by MUS is the place to be. © Michael Königshofer
Thomas Genser and Manuela Moser are responsible for the concept of the café/day bar by MUS. In addition to daily snacks and quick bites, it's the breakfast that stands out here: the buffet in Mediterranean crossover style (available until 2pm on weekends), beckons with fresh fruit, vegetables, sandwiches and Mediterranean salads.
