The EDELWEISS Salzburg Mountain Resort in beautiful Grossarl has just undergone a comprehensive makeover. But that's not all: The popular five-star hotel is also expanding into the ski area – just in time for the winter season.

Winter Wonderland

From the new 2023/24 season, visitors to the Grossarltal-Dorfgastein ski area will be able to enjoy a completely new winter sport experience. Days on the mountain will not only be more comfortable but also more enjoyable. The reasons for this are two new restaurants opened by the Hetteggers, the Pichlers and Neudeggers, three of Großarl's most prominent hotelier families.

The first of these new gourmet highlights in Grossarl is the "INFERNO Pizzeria & Bar" at the valley station. Italian classics such as pasta and pizza as well as spicy specialties of outstanding quality will be served here in an elegant ambience. The new cantina with its 80 seats is set to become THE place to be after a long day of skiing.

The second joint restaurant at 1,954 meters, where you seem to be floating on cloud nine, takes you up high. In typical EDELWEISS style, the finest creations of the highest quality are also on the menu here. For example, you can look forward to the best carpaccio, tuna ceviche, burrata and classics such as veal cheeks or Kaiserschmarrn. There is room for 140 people indoors alone. The highlight is undoubtedly the 360-degree panoramic terrace with a magnificent view over the white Salzburg Alps, which attracts another 140 hungry guests and is available for DJ sessions and other exciting events.

New Cable Car

From the 2023/24 ski season, "Wolke 7" will be accessible via a new 10-passenger gondola lift, which leads up to the Kieserl and several new pistes. 

Grossarl gourmet summit

In addition, a real treat awaits all gourmets beyond the ski slopes next year; The Grossarl Gourmet Summit, which will take place from January 21 to 25. Together with three other hotels in the region, the EDELWEISS has organized a very special foodie experience: Every evening, wines from selected vineyard will be presented in a different hotel. Sunday evening will be rounded off with a gala dinner and on Monday or Tuesday, there's an early-bird skiing package including breakfast (Skikeriki – available at extra charge) from € 920 per person.
