Coming soon: luxury finca Son Bunyola opens in Mallorca
In the middle of nowhere, amidst the beautiful nature of Banyalbufar in Mallorca, a magnificent luxury finca has been built. Now the Son Bunyola is about to open.

It is to become once one of the "most luxurious hotels of the Mediterranean area", according to the Virgin Limited group and the British billionaire Richard Branson: The new Edelfinca Son Bunyola, which was collaboratively created on Mallorca. On a 330-hectare site directly on the west coast of the sunny island, the magnificent building from the 16th century, including the outdoor area, was most recently restored and expanded. Now it is about to open.
Upscale hotel on the sunny island
4,000 square meters in total measures the luxurious hotel surrounded by greenery, which will include 28 rooms and 7 super suites. It consists of the main finca, the tafona, and several other buildings. Special highlight are two tower suites, one of them in an old medieval defense tower from the 13th century, which has been preserved.
The Son Bunyola is equipped with a foyer, relaxation rooms, a bar, and two restaurants. From the terrace, the guests enjoy a breathtaking panorama of the gorgeous landscape. This is where the check in is to take place, so that one can directly "benefit of the wonderful view", as the designated hotel director Vincent Padioleau explained during the building phase. The spa will be the place to relax.
Mallorcan architect Guillermo Reynés is responsible for the special design of the structure, for which he has used regional materials and old relics of the former Son Bunyola. The outdoor area, lined with almond, olive and citrus trees, has also been redesigned and features a magnificent pool.
The site on which the new hotel has found a place is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Summer opening
The luxury hotel Son Bunyola is to open its doors to guests in June of 2023, just in time for the Summer season. Earlier than planned, initially it was said to open in August of 2023. An overnight stay on Bed & Breakfast basis is to be about 600 euros per room.
