Happiest anticipation is the sweetest joy.
8 February 2021
For many, the trip to the airport terminal or the sight of a new city probably a long time ago. Because last year you couldn't cross very many countries off your personal bucket list. 2021 also has a lot to offer in terms of Travel not off to a particularly good start. And yet it is all the more important that we can hold on to something that motivates us and that we can look forward to. After all, it's a well-known fact that anticipation is the best joy. What sounds a bit trite, but has a true core, which we have recognized at the latest since Lockdown number one.
That's why we have 5 good reasons here why we should start planning a new journey should be doing.
We need a motivational boost
At some point, there comes a time when it's no longer enough to reminisce and feed off of past vacations. We desperately need new motivation to get well through the day, the week and most importantly - the winter. So if we start planning a trip to our dream destination right now, our mood will instantly brighten and we'll have something to look forward to. Be it a summer holiday in Sardinia, the golden autumn in Paris or an adventure in the mountains. Of course, we have to keep the pandemic and the measures that apply with it in mind, but just the thought of future travel to a foreign country can be incredibly soothing.
We want new inspiration
Currently, there is not much from which we can draw new inspiration. One gloomy winter day follows the next. So how about you scour the internet and start looking for the perfect holiday destination? Read up on the benefits of each place and make a list of all the things you'd like to visit there. Whether it's a few relaxing days sunbathing on the beach, sightseeing through new climes, or active moments in your personal power spot, the sky's the limit. Think about where you've never been, but definitely want to go. Or think of places where you were particularly happy and you can start planning a trip.
We need variety
If there's one thing we need right now, it's a break from our daily routine. Who normally already now at the holiday plans for the whole year, you can continue to do so - but with consideration for the current situation. Then nothing will stand in the way of your annual time-out. Planning and thinking about your future holiday, provides structured routines and inner anticipation - a welcome change! Think about the sound of the sea and the clicking of cameras - or the announcement on the plane that you are already on approach instead of going through the shopping list for tonight's dinner.
We want to broaden our horizons
In the past few months, many of you may have had a little more time to read, watch movies and series, or educate yourself intellectually. In the process, you may have come across one or two holiday destinations that you wouldn't have thought of otherwise. If these sound interesting to you, then do some research and browse the internet to find out what there is to discover, how best to get there and how much time you should allow. Broadening your horizons is always a good idea.
We should support tourism
Numerous jobs and sales have been lost in the tourism sector over the past twelve months. Planning a trip therefore means, above all, providing support! Most hotels and holiday destinations already offer free cancellation conditions and have taken precautions regarding hygiene measures so that guests feel as safe as possible.
