Once upon a time there was a monastery next to the eponymous church of San Paolino and the premises of a Florence bank. Then 25hours came along and, through controlled demolition, new building elements and restored old areas, transformed those spaces once intended for spirituality or savings into a trendy new hotel. 66 rooms in the historic core, the original monastery, and 104 additional guest rooms with balconies will welcome travelers beginning September 8. The Casetta del Giardino, a small apartment with a private garden and pool, complements the cosmopolitan hotel. The Florence property is the first 25hours hotel in Italy.

Divinely inspired

The 25hours Hotel Piazza San Paolino is located in the heart of Florence, in the Santa Maria Novella district. You won't find any tourist crowds here. But the district is authentic and within walking distance of the train station. The hotel is located at the back of the Museo del Novecento, between the elegant Via de Fossi with its antiques and the popular Via Palazzuolo. When designing the interior, Milanese designer Paola Navone was inspired by Dante Alighieri's work "The Divine Comedy". Accordingly, many allusions to the literary masterpiece can be found in the rooms of the first 25hours Hotel in Italy. Scenes from hell and paradise alternate.

Dining heavenly

Under the huge glass dome in the centre of the hotel is the San Paolino restaurant. It stands for Italian cuisine with the best from all regions of the country. A focus is also placed on the specialties of Tuscany. As a special feature, some dishes from the private recipe collection of designer Paola Navone are also on the menu. Surrounding the restaurant is a green courtyard garden, a classic Negroni bar and an alimentari. In the latter, guests can buy small snacks, such as panini, sandwiches and salads, as well as wine and delicacies from the region.
