“Party of Life” is the first major exhibition dedicated to artists Andy Warhol and Keith Haring, transporting visitors to 1980s New York—a world of MTV, voguing, and graffiti. The showcase highlights their friendship and shared artistic ethos, emphasizing bold self-promotion, unmistakable styles, and a mutual vision: making art and its messages accessible to as many people as possible.

A young kneeling Hitler begging for forgiveness, Pope John Paul II struck by a meteorite—no theme is too sacred for Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan. Through satire, humor, and provocation, Cattelan critiques societal norms and the art world itself. The 64-year-old consistently pushes boundaries and challenges taboos, a feat increasingly rare in contemporary art.

Seventy years after his death, the Fondation Beyeler celebrates French painter Henri Matisse with a retrospective titled “Invitation to Travel”. The exhibit takes viewers on a journey through Matisse’s works, reflecting his own wanderlust and passion for light. Inspired by his travels to luminous locales like Spain, Morocco, and Tahiti, Matisse’s art captures the essence of sunlit southern landscapes, making his quest for light a central theme.

Amoako Boafo

What would the global art scene be without rising stars? One such talent is Ghanaian artist Amoako Boafo, celebrated as a leading voice of a new generation of Black artists. After studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, Boafo captivated the art world with his striking portraits. Using his fingers to paint faces and hands, and broad brushstrokes for bodies and backgrounds, the 40-year-old’s works exude an expressive quality reminiscent of Egon Schiele, blending technique with profound emotional depth.

Timeless, groundbreaking, elegant, and influential—these words define the work of Christian Dior (1905–1957). Founding his Paris fashion house in 1946, Dior revolutionized style with the iconic New Look silhouette, achieving immediate acclaim. Though his career as head of Dior spanned just a decade, his impact remains profound. The Kunstmuseum Den Haag presents his creations alongside those of Maria Grazia Chiuri, Dior’s current—and first female—creative director, showcasing the enduring legacy of his designs in dialogue with contemporary interpretations.
