St. Pete has the reputation of being the secret cultural capital of Florida. A fact that has become even clearer since August 3, 2023. Because since then, the life and works of Salvador Dalí have been celebrated in an unprecedented way. In Dalí Alive 360°, visitors experience a multisensory art enjoyment. In the new museum space, visitors stand in the midst of digital images, while a light and sound concept provides additional sensory impressions. Further art enjoyment can be indulged in at the Museum of the American Arts and Crafts Movement, the James Museum of Western & Wildlife Art, the Chihuly Collection, the Museum of Fine Arts and while viewing the over 90 colorful murals around town.

St. Pete/Clearwater offshore are the so-called Barrier Islands. They bear sounding names like Anclote Key, Egmont Key, Honeymoon Island and Caladesi Island. While the latter two are better known, Anclote Key and Egmont Key offer glorious tranquility. Anclote Key is only about five kilometers from Tarpon Springs. You can easily cross over by boat or ferry. Southwest of Fort De Soto Park, Egmont Key is a special nature preserve. Here, hikers can not only look for the gopher tortoises, but can also admire the old fortifications from the 19th century.
Picturesque towns

There's also no shortage of Instagram motifs in St. Pete/Clearwater. For example, Gulfport is particularly photogenic with the colorful houses downtown. Galleries and restaurants advertise their services with colorful signs. In Safety Harbor, on the other hand, it's worth visiting Whimzeyland - a front yard complete with a work of art made of recycled odds and ends. Tarpon Springs, on the other hand, was shaped by Greek immigrants, while Dunedin could be called the Scotland of Florida. Here, you can experience the Celtic heritage in pubs, breweries and stores.
