The Waldorf Astoria Doha West Bay is a sophisticated homage to the original hotel built in New York in 1931. It comes as no surprise then, that the urban, 44-storey luxury oasis impresses with an opulent façade and interior design that focuses on glamorous Art Deco elements and at the same time does justice to the cultural heritage of the region. This is epitomized the gigantic Tiffany & Co. clock in the lobby, whose bezel is inspired by the feather tips of a falcon - the national bird of Qatar.

In the evenings, guests can dive into the Cortland Bar, which is modeled after a New York speakeasy and where expert mixologists create the most magical cocktails - even with the Green Fairy in them, if desired. The Al Fayroux Terrace is an outdoor shisha bar, offering a delicious Levantine menu suitable for both snacking and larger meals.

In the Tribeca Market restaurant, you can dine and enjoy throughout the day. With five different live cooking stations and some transatlantic classics - from Black Angus NY prime striploin to barbecue chicken wings, New York cheesecake and oysters - this restaurant exudes New York flair par excellence. Nevertheless, you can also indulge in fish and vegetarian options at Tribeca Market. Also worth mentioning is Muru, where Michelin-awarded chef Mauro Colagreco cooks up a magical themed menu based on the four elements.

The four-storey Waldorf Astoria Spa & WA Fitness is perfect for spa lovers and discerning wellness travelers. On the 39th floor, you can steel your body in the fitness center or push yourself to the limit in the spinning room, while the yoga and Pilates studio will help you achieve greater serenity. The spa check-in, beauty salon for facials & co. and the spacious changing rooms are located one floor higher.

The sauna on the 41st floor. © provided

On the 41st floor, guests will find steam and sauna baths, a hydrotherapy area, an experience shower, an ice fountain and a wonderfully steamy hammam. However, the highlight of this urban luxury oasis is the spacious swimming pool on floor 42, which stretches the entire length of the skyscraper. In addition to a breathtaking view, it stands out with design elements such as black marble or green mosaic tiles, referencing the Art Deco style which is so typical of the Waldorf Astoria Group.

Also an Art Deco homage: the spacious swimming pool on the 42nd floor. © provided

There are also two smaller swimming pools for men and women - the facilities are strictly separated by gender throughout the spa. According to the Waldorf Astoria Doha West Bay, the 120-minute Arabian Sea and Sand Ritual treatment is particularly recommended: there's a customized massage with a selection of oils on a bed of large sand crystals. When you indulge in the spa here, you'll be reminded of 1001 Nights.
