Berlin, Germany

While there are roughly 360 vegan restaurants throughout Germany, a remarkable 80 of these can be found in the capital. Even kebab (called Vöner in vegan form) and Currywurst have their own cruelty-free version. Berlin's Friedrichshain district in particular is not only hip, but also a paradise for vegans. A good starting point would be the hotel numa Sketch, which is is only a stone's throw away from the Secret Garden and its signature vegan sushi.

The metropolis on the Thames is considered one of the most vegan-friendly cities in the world. The selection ranges from elegant afternoon tea to international delicacies from all over the world. But it's not just food that makes London a "green" miracle. There are also numerous stores and boutiques selling animal-free clothing, cosmetics, and more. Of course, this is no accident: Around 500,000 people in the UK are now vegans. One of the oldest vegan culinary institutions Mildred's in Soho. A true pioneer, they've been serving up meat-free fare since the 1960s.

This is probably a city that not many have on their radar for Veganuary 2024. Yet Warsaw is actually one of the best destinations for vegans. More than 40 vegan restaurants delight travelers. Most of them quite innovative, with animal-free sushi, croissants and schnitzel, for instance. Krowazyova Vegan Burger is a delight, even for meat lovers, with fresh, healthy ingredients fit to satisfy anyone.

Famous for its cuisine and savoir vivre, it's no wonder France is a foodie's dream. The best chefs in the world complete their training in Paris. However, the sheer number of vegan restaurants proves that France does not cling desperately to old glory. Nearly 50 completely vegan restaurants make Paris the place to be for Veganuary 2024. You can even book vegan city tours, which take you to the city's cruelty-free hotspots. We recommend a visit to the Le Potager du Marais, which is known for its varied menu.

Endless forests, lakes, bright red houses: when you think of Sweden, you can't help but conjure up beautiful images of secluded places and lots of nature. Vegan travelers will be pleased to know that in Sweden – especially in Gothenburg – you don't even have to look for animal-free alternatives: They are available on almost every corner. The selection of vegan products in the supermarkets is huge. Then there is the Max fast food chain with its vegan BBQ burger and a huge selection of vegan restaurants.
