Where to Get the Best Vegan Food in Vegas
These Sin City eateries serve vegan cuisine that even carnivores will fall for.

Vegas is known for many things: bad Elvis impersonators, excellent entertainment, bright neon signs and endless gambling. But vegan food? Not so much. And yet, there's nothing you can't get in Vegas. While most restaurants offer some vegan options, some places truly stand out for their plant-based cuisine.

The menu mostly includes beloved dishes like fried calamari, steak and spaghetti with meatballs. As you watcher the servers go by, you can't help but notice that it certainly looks like the real deal. Even if it's presented like haute cuisine. Once you take your first bite, you'll feel compelled to ask if it's really all vegan. The answer is yes, it really is. The team takes the surprised reactions as a compliment. After all, that was precisely Chef Tal Ronnen's goal when he opened his first Crossroads in Los Angeles in 2103.

He wants even avid meat lovers to walk out of the restaurant with a smile. "There are no obvious vegan cues, and most guests don't even make the connection that the menu is plant-based – they just know that the restaurant is comfortable and the food is filling and delicious. Crossroads is defined not by what's missing, but by what it is," Ronnen says. Consequently, you're presented with a steak knife to go with the eggplant steak. Add to that the upscale décor and a location in the middle of "Resort World" at the end of the Strip, and you've got an absolute hit on your hand.

Truth & Tonic
Someone has to be first. In Vegas – or at least on the Strip – it was Truth & Tonic at The Venetian. Described as a "wellness café," it offers a cozy and relaxed atmosphere, along with great vegan food.

The menu is full of healthy superfoods. Turmeric, black pepper and avocado oil are used to fight inflammation, strengthen the immune system and increase brain power. Biohacking, but make it tasty. The place is open for breakfast as well as lunch.

VegeNation
Chef Donald Lemperle, originally from New York, lived the life of a highly successful chef. He was responsible for some of the finest restaurant kitchens in the Big Apple as well as some places in Scottsdale, Arizona. In 2005, Lemperle was diagnosed with cancer. He then decided to radically change his life. Part of it: a vegan diet and a generally healthier lifestyle – which quickly seeped over into his cooking.

He then opened "VegeNation" near the Downtown Container Park in Las Vegas, where guests enjoy his one hundred percent plant-based and always fresh street food. The ingredients are sourced from small, local producers. Even the beer, alcohol and coffee. Our favorite: brunch on Saturday and Sunday.

Bonus Tip: Saginaw's Deli
The American diner-style eatery is tucked away in the Circa Resort & Casino, one of the finest of its kind in Downtown Las Vegas. And while it doesn't serve an exclusively vegan menu, it still deserves a spot on the vegan in Vegas list. Joe's Vegan Special is a sandwich that's way worth the visit.

Chickpeas snuggle in a fine vinaigrette with tomatoes and cucumbers, embraced by lettuce and red onions – under a blanket of fine avocado on a bed of wheat toast. Paul Saginaw, co-founder of Zingerman's Deli – one of the best sandwich shops in the world – is behind the esteemed locale. Saginaw's is open around the clock, making it an ideal place for a late-night snack.
