25 kilometers long measures the Val Gardena in the northwest of the most impressive mountains in the world, the Dolomites. Here flows the Val Gardena stream, a unique mountain and plant world extends from the southernmost point to the heights and the three communities of Ortisei (1,236m), S. Cristina (1,428m) and Selva Gardena (1,563m) shake hands amicably. This is the place to come, both in winter and in summer, to enjoy the variety of outdoor activities and to experience the beauty of the landscape.

La Dolce Vita
Val Gardena is not only known for its active offer, the region can also score in culinary terms. For example, there are three gourmet restaurants in the immediate vicinity that have been awarded Michelin stars. If you like it more traditional, you'll find your favorite dishes in the many mountain huts.
Lovers of fine wines and tart beers should travel to Val Gardena in July. After the Sëira del vin, a wine tasting, takes place on 07 July, the Gherdëina Craft Beer Festival is celebrated from 21 to 22 July.
South Tyrolean art
Tradition is capitalized in Val Gardena, and so is its long artistic history. And there's even more: Val Gardena is considered the cradle of South Tyrolean art and woodcarving, which already began in the 17th century. Even today, this craft represents a major industry in the valley.
Among the traditional highlights in the region is the Traditional Costume Festival on August 6 and the UNIKA Art Fair, which opens its doors from August 31 to September 3. Those who are more drawn to the region in the fall can look forward to the Traditional Leaf Market (Marcià de Segra Sacun) on 09 October.
