The Hotel Ansitz Plantitscherhof in the villa district of Merano is an insider tip for connoisseurs. On the terrace, you toast with a glass of wine from the hotel's own vinotheque - 21,000 exquisite drops from South Tyrol and around the world are stored in this former estate, and the wine list consists of 900 positions. Vin Zenz | House at the Tower | Apartments Ida

Südtriol

Directly behind the Zwölferturm in Sterzing's old town lies the Vin Zenz; the name recalls the grandfather of host Veronika Stöttler. In 2010, together with her partner Daniel Planer, she began to entertain guests with a few wines and simple dishes. 30 exquisite drops are on offer now, and the wine list is just as ambitious as the local and regional delicacies. In 2019, a chic boutique hotel was added: Nordic design meets local craftsmanship and hand-woven bedding meets a proprietary bodycare line made from organic herbs - Haus am Turm is the name of this hideaway. In the summer, the rooftop terrace serves as a small yoga studio, and they serve homemade food at the Slow Breakfast. In the same year, they also opened the Apartments IDA, ten spacious accommodation units for up to six people with wooden floorboards, frescoes and terrazzo floors. Breakfast is served in the apartment on request - but actually it's so cozy in the Vin Zenz that you love to spend your time there.
