WHY BOOK?
The new resort focuses on consistent sustainability and proves that the combination with luxury works. Foodies will enjoy 12 dining outlets offering outstanding cuisine. In addition, the Patina Maldives probably has the best Kids Club in the Maldives.
Location & neighborhood
The Patina Maldives is located on an artificial island, which belongs to the Fari Islands. These are located in the North Malé Atoll. Thanks to the location of this group of islands, the arrival is very comfortable via a 45-minute speed boat ride from Malé airport directly to the island. All around, nothing disturbs the wonderful views. The vegetation of the island promises to become tropically lush. This will still take a little time.
Villas & Bungalows
20 studios on the edge of the lively Fari Marina Village and 90 villas with perfect sunrise or sunset views are available for guests to choose from. They are highly functional and offer every comfort one could wish for. State of the art luxury and high tech features complement the private hideaways. The design is understated, minimal, and soothing. As in all resort areas, consistent sustainability is pursued here as well.
The design of the villas and studios seamlessly merges the interior and exterior. This creates a feeling of flowing transitions. Each villa has its own large pool. A highlight is the Beachhouse. It extends over two floors, offers three bedrooms, and has a 21-meter pool and a large tropical garden.
Food & Drinks
In culinary terms, the Patina Maldives plays in the absolute upper league. 12 different restaurant concepts fulfill the wishes of every gourmet. Apart from the huge selection of restaurants, their quality is also worth mentioning. The "Roots" is considered the signature restaurant. It focuses on plant-based nutrition. Derreck Wales creates slow-food delights from ingredients grown directly in the island's permaculture garden. Zero-waste and nose-to-tail principles are followed in all restaurants.
Another highlight is "Brasa," which is dedicated to grilled specialties from Patagonia in South America. Asian delicacies and craft beers are served at the "Wok Society," while the menu at "Helios" features Greek-Aegean cuisine of the finest quality. If you're feeling peckish in between meals, we recommend a "Go Go Burger" from the restaurant's own food truck.
It goes without saying that the resort does not use plastic. But sustainability goes one step further. The water comes from the island's own water treatment station, and even the cocktails have a particularly small carbon footprint thanks to the latest spirits packaging technology.
Spa & Fitness
The comprehensive well-being program includes a sensational spa called "Flow". Treatment rooms with hammam, saunas, red light therapy and a comprehensive spa menu with treatments from all over the world are available. Special attention is paid to the use of sustainably produced products. For example, Osea and Haeckels Skincare are used. Patina Maldives is the only resort in the Maldives with a float pod. Secluded from all outside influences, guests experience how in warm water muscles relax, the heartbeat slows down, and a feeling of tranquility sets in.
The experience of indulging in Watsu - shiatsu in the water - is also particularly popular. In addition to numerous water sports, there is also a state-of-the-art gym and a tennis court. All in all, one pursues a holistic approach to the concept of wellbeing.
For families
Behind the name "Footprints" one will find probably the best Kids Club in the Maldives. Here, children between the ages of four and eleven can playfully discover themselves, get to know the environment, experience sustainability, and live out their creative skills. Footprints" is outstanding in terms of both staff and facilities. Pottering, planting trees, playing, romping and even high-tech-supported experiences leave nothing but happy children.
Service & Amenities
There is a reason why the service is so outstanding. Once a year, there is a two-week training on the island for the entire staff. It is hosted by none other than employees of the most famous hotel management school in the world: the Swiss Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL). Apart from the impeccable service, guests also benefit from numerous additional amenities, depending on the villa category. For example, there are bicycles, sups, snorkeling equipment, welcome prosecco, fruit platters, kombucha-making classes, laundry service and much more.
Recommendations from the editors
Each restaurant is a highlight in its own way. But you should definitely try the steak with French fries at "Brasa". The quality of the meat is indescribable. If you don't plan at least one spa visit during your stay, you are definitely missing out. The Patina Maldives is perfect for families.
