It is well known that only in Dubai do the police go on patrol with Lamborghinis. But the Aston Martin Vantage, the Audi R8, the Bugatti Veyron, the Porsche Panamera, the BMW 18, and the McLaren MP4-12C are also part of the super fleet. This makes the emirate the country with the most expensive police fleet in the world, relatively speaking.

The dimensions are imposing: at 828 meters and 163 floors, the Burj Khalifa is the tallest building in the world. Another record the building holds is that for the highest outdoor observation deck (at 555 meters) in the world. In addition, the tower has the most floors. According to official data, its construction cost about 1 billion euros. Incidentally, 38 floors of the building comprise the world's first Armani hotel.

You have to be a bit free of giddiness if you dare to take a dip in this pool. The infinity pool at the Address Beach Resort is not only one of the most beautiful rooftop pools in the world. It's also the highest. 95 meters long and located at 293,906 meters, it opens up wonderful views of the Ain Dubai Ferris wheel and Jumeirah Beach.

Deep down instead of high up - this could be the motto of the Deep Dive Dubai. After all, it's not just one of an incredible number of pools in Dubai. It's the deepest. 14 million liters of water ensure that divers can descend to a depth of 60 meters. The way down is lined with numerous fun gimmicks. You'll pass football tables, slot machines, graffiti and a giant picture of Marilyn Monroe.

The spectacular fountain show in front of the Belaggio in Las Vegas is world-famous. However, compared to The Palm Fountain on Palm Jumeirah, it's also rather puny. That's because the water jets shoot up to 105 meters into the air at the world's highest fountain. The spectacle is accompanied by 3000 LED lights and music. The water show takes place daily from 7 pm in 30-minute intervals.

Flowers in a desert state? That, too, is probably only to be found in Dubai. Because the Dubai Miracle Garden is not just a park. No! It's home to over 45,000 flowers. Its surface area? 72,000 square meters. Simply arranging the plants in pretty beds would be too little for the Emiratis, however. Here, picturesque works of art are created from the blossoms. For example, a full-size Airbus A380 covered by 500,000 plants.

You don't have to be a shopaholic to have heard of the Dubai Mall. With a total area of 1.1 million square meters, it's the largest of its kind in terms of floor space. In addition to hundreds of restaurants, cafes and stores, it houses an artificial ice rink, the world's largest Gold Souk, a 24-meter waterfall and a three-story aquarium. Seals, penguins and crocodiles, among others, live here.

At 154 meters, the London Eye is Europe's largest Ferris wheel. It is outdone by the Singapore Flyer (165 meters), the Star of Nanchang (160 meters) and the High Roller in Las Vegas (167.6 meters). Only in Dubai does one make it far over 200 meters. That's because the Ain Dubai spins up to a dizzying 260 meters. It takes almost forty minutes to complete a full rotation.
