When you visit Madrid in fall, you can look forward to an average temperature of 25°C and the heat waves of summer are over. Many hours of sunshine and pleasant temperatures for exploring the city or relaxing by the hotel rooftop pool make for a warm autumn vacation.

What to do:

Temple of Debod

The Temple of Debod is the ideal place to combine an autumn stroll with art and culture in Spain's capital. It's located in the Parque del Oeste. This ancient Egyptian temple from the 2nd century BC was donated to Spain by Egypt to save it from being flooded by the construction of the Aswan Dam. The temple is considered a masterpiece of ancient Egyptian architecture.

Tip: In the evening, the temple is festively illuminated. Then the temple shines in a magical light.

Culinary established since 2018, Market San Miguel is considered the culinary temple of Madrid. Historically and architecturally, it's also impressive. It's one of the few steel buildings in the city. Foodies will find all the components of Spanish cuisine and much more. First-class products from all parts of Spain come together: Tapas, fish and seafood from the Galician coast as well as a wide selection of fine cheeses and meats from Spain. And there are also Michelin stars. Because at the Rocambolesc stand, there's homemade ice cream from Joan Roca (3 Michelin stars). Or try the traditional rice dishes by Rodrigo de la Calle (1 Michelin star) at the paella stand. One thing is for sure: you won't leave the market hungry!
