More is more: Seefels Castle between design and history
On the crystal-clear shores of Lake Wörthersee stands a castle that captivates vacationers - now more than ever. Since 2022, Seefels Castle has been a stylish mix of history and exoticism, luxury and design.

Who does not long for it: a day at the lake, dangling your feet in the cool water. Plus, excellent food - because the spirit wants to feel good in the body. Wellness should therefore not be missing either. And perhaps a large, stylish room and a soft bed in which you can dream as much as you like. Does that sound a little too good to be true? Not at all.
At Hotel Schloss Seefels in Techelsberg near Pörtschach, which will be even more beautiful this season thanks to a makeover, these dreams will become reality. The five-star boutique hotel scores with its mix of historic architecture and stylish design, between classic and exotic, as well as with its location on Lake Wörthersee. Great!

The nights between design and designs

A dream for design lovers: in the 68 rooms and suites you lounge not only on imposing beds, with headboards upholstered with fine fabrics, but also between Venini lamps made of Murano glass and a finely tuned colour palette, which shows taste, starting with light powder pink, through orange, green and ending with light blue. Never before has a rainbow been so elegant. Soon, moreover, carefully selected works of art from the Strabag collection and the collection of the Essl family will be added - we can be curious.
The quality fabrics from the house of Christian Lacroix, Pierre Frey or Lelièvre and Casamance are used. This pleases both the eyes and the sense of touch. Amenities include not only an extremely useful USB port, but also a Dyson hairdryer. Highlight are the 13 designs, fine patterns showing cacti, parrots or peacocks. A great mix of design and the distinguished touch of castle feeling.
Gourmet delights worthy of a king
Whoever stays in a castle also dines royally - that much is certain, also at Hotel Schloss Seefels. True gourmands are offered a wide range of culinary hotspots that are worth seeing - and enjoying:
Gourmet Restaurant La Terrasse
Here Alpe meets Adria, interpreted in a modern way and prepared with fresh, local ingredients. Chef Richard Hessl insists on this - so only the best from the region, finely prepared, ends up on the plates. This is accompanied by one of 330 labels from the in-house wine climate room, from white to red to champagne. This gourmet delight has already won three Falstaff forks and three Gault Millau hoods. Those who manage to take their eyes off the plate will also be delighted by the view: the bright, almost iconic blue of Lake Wörthersee stretches out directly in front of La Terrasse.

Porto Bello & Lounge
Anyone who has ever been to Porto Bello will immediately notice: everything here is new. And that's a good thing. The atmosphere is a bit hipper, the colours a bit brighter, the interior with its wall mirrors and light wood architecture a bit more modern but still quite stylish. Located directly on the marina, the stylish pavilion in Carinthia's national colours proudly displays its open Lohberger kitchen. Here, under the guidance of chef and toque chef Richard Hessl, summery delicious Alpe-Adria cuisine is created. Special attention is given to fresh fish dishes. Those who like can also meet for a chilling sundowner.

Spa on the lake: Seefels Spa
Under the motto "urban jungle meets sea of flowers", the 1,200-square-meter Seefels Spa presents itself in a mix of Bisazza columns, floor-to-ceiling wall tiles, yucca palms and rubber trees. So as soon as you enter, you feel like you're in another world - the massages and treatments with exclusive Sisley products do the rest. For the right "sweat" go to the panorama sauna with a view of Lake Wörthersee. And on the shore of the same, the 28-degree hot lakeside pool is waiting to provide unique bathing experiences - by the way, the Seefels is only one of three establishments in all of Austria that has one. So trying it out is a must!

Sports by the lake: Premium Gym
With all the good food and soothing relaxation, you need a little balance. And that's what you'll find in the hotel's fitness centre with its large panoramic window front and cool Palm Beach flair. Your muscles are toned on TechnoGym equipment, and once a week there's even a personal trainer on hand. To cool off, jump into the outdoor pool and do your laps with a view of the Karawanken.
Children, Kids: Kids Club
Not only the grown-ups, but also the little ones are in focus at Hotel Schloss Seefels. In the Kid's Club, style, play and fun come together. This starts with the designer wallpaper with animal motifs by Pierre Frey, which - contrary to other walls, as you know - can be painted and scribbled on. Children's hearts beat faster! Open from Tuesday to Saturday from 2 to 9 pm.
