Mauritius - Relaxation Under Palm Trees and White Sandy Beaches
If you've ever had postcards from Mauritius in your mailbox, you know that you can find them here, miles and miles of pristine palm beaches, just like in a picture book.

The 40 by 60 kilometer island in the Indian Ocean belongs to the Mascarenes. The brilliant white beaches are fringed by one of the world's largest coral reefs and shelter snorkeling enthusiasts and many species of fish from the open sea. Mauritius' volcanic origins make for picturesque inland hills covered by lush rainforests. Fertile soils allow for the cultivation of a variety of local produce on site.
Since Mauritius' discovery by the Europeans in the 16th century, colonial powers alternated for centuries. French, African, Chinese and Creole cultures met and shaped the country with their different ways of life and languages. The colorful mixture makes Mauritius today one of the most tolerant and hospitable destinations in the world.

On the northeastern side of the island is the One&Only Le Saint Gérain. The location on a private peninsula ensures a particularly high level of exclusivity. Water sports range from kite surfing and water skiing to extensive diving excursions at the hotel's dive center. The spa is definitely worth a visit: while the kids romp around in the best kids' club on the island, the adults can relax with a deep massage. Alternatively, the resort also offers the possibility of a bonding experience par excellence: with the parent-child massage, even the very young can relax in a big way.
