Why book?
In search of sun and luxury: the new opening promises to become one of the best hotels in Cyprus. © Cap St Georges Hotel & Resort
The Cap St Georges Hotel & Resort feels like a luxurious little village in the Mediterranean. Locality plays a major role here. Among other aspects, the hotel was built from Cypriot stone. The beach and coast remain entirely unchanged, and the kitchen pays attention to seasonal and local food. A perfect luxury retreat for gourmands, active travelers and discerning guests who prefer summer temperatures.
Good to know:
With a bit of luck, you might even spot a celebrity at the luxurious private residences on the premises – among the villa owners are illustrious personalities such as pop superstar Shakira.
Location
On the Mediterranean island of Cyprus, you can still enjoy summery temperatures of up to 20 °C in November. The Cap St Georges is located in the west of the island on the unspoiled Akamas Peninsula near Phaphos. Like a luxurious little village, the resort stretches over 585,000 square meters between the sea, the beach and numerous olive groves. Directly in front of the resort is a pebble beach that's under nature conservation. Walking along the coast, you can also catch a glimpse at the legendary island of Yeronisos, Cleopatra's alleged love nest. And just a short drive or 30-minute walk away, you'll find seals and turtles in Lara Bay.
Good to know:
In 2023, the resort will be expanded to include an extensive vegetable, herb and pleasure garden. In the center of it there will be a cozy coffee house where people will meet to play backgammon and enjoy good coffee.
Ambience
The light-filled lobby also offers drinks and a great view of the sea. © Cap St Georges Hotel & Resort
Our first impression of the new Cap St Georges is airy, elegant, modern. Guests are welcomed in the light-flooded lobby with lofty high ceilings and comfortable couch corners where you'll fight the urge to just lie down for a nap. Above it is an intricate light installation by the Austrian brand Lasvit, inspired by fish, which almost steals the show, despite the view of the sea and the resort with its green roofs. The building was built harmoniously into the hillside and faces west toward the sunset.
Shop & snack
The heart of the resort are the large outdoor pool area and the patio one floor below, where restaurants, a café, a small children's cinema, and the boutique First (which awaits with hand-picked designer fashion for passionate shoppers) are gathered. Gourmands will find delicacies such as carob tree syrup or kummandaria at the specialty store across the street.
Rooms & suites
Large, medium-soft beds and infinite blue right outside the window: the new five-star resort captivates with laidback luxury. © Cap St Georges Hotel & Resort
In addition to its 200 beachfront private residences, the Cap St Georges boasts 202 spacious guest rooms and suites in twelve categories. These have been designed in understated elegance, with soft earth tones and large window fronts. These come in handy as all accommodations overlook the sea in the direction of the sunset.
While the rooms on the second floor have direct access to the pool, it's the pool suites that make will your trip even more relaxing. They allow you to dive right into their own infinity pool – the connecting suites with extra-large pools are the definitive standout.
