The natural paradise in northern Italy combines the best of several worlds. On the one hand, you almost feel like you're on the Mediterranean. On the other hand, there are the high mountains all around you. And above all lies the glamour of times long past. But the region around the largest inland lake in Italy is not dusty. Perhaps a bit dreamy. And although summer is the high season, there are also many reasons to spend spring on Lake Garda.

While elsewhere it can still be quite cold, you can already enjoy about 18 degrees and sunshinefrom the beginning of April. You can sip on an Aperitivo outside and soak in the sun's vitamin D. Active people can really enjoy the spring at Lake Garda. Because the climate is ideal now. Even the often somewhat steeper climbs can be mastered before summer without too much sweating. For example, over 70 signposted routes await hikers in Garda Trentino. They delight with different degrees of difficulty and always offer beautiful views of the lake.

In March, spring moves in with the first blossoms. Especially the lush magnolia trees are worth seeing. In April, it continues with magnificent cherry and peach trees. Nature lovers can also look forward to yellow forsythia and the lemon and orange blossom with its beguiling fragrance. A detour to the Botanical Garden of André Heller on the west bank is definitely worthwhile. In addition to over 3,000 species, you can also admire works of art by Keith Haring, Roy Lichtenstein and Auguste Rodin.

Spring on Lake Garda also attracts with a varied program of events. The Optimist sailing regatta takes place here at the beginning of April, there are Easter processions and a chocolate festival. At the end of April follow the Lemon Festival in Gargnano and the Bike Festival in Riva del Garda. On May 23, the 16th stage of the Giro d'Italia strips Lake Garda. And the weekend around May 26 rosé fans should mark pink in their calendars. Because then Bardolino celebrates the Palio del Chiaretto. Decorated tasting booths will line the waterfront of Bardolino.
